It's not excuses.

This team is plagued by a number of problems that have gone unaddressed for years. Instead of making any substantial or needed changes we just shuffle defensive coordinators in and out the door.

Since some of you can't wrap your head around this, here is an analogy:

If you ran a restaurant, and you had 5 different chefs(DCs) in 10 years, but the same management and kitchen staff(assistant and position coaches) and every year people bitched about the food being cold and the service being shite, at some point you have to look at the staff. But the staff never gets fired because they're all best friends with the owner(Payton) .

The act of firing Ryan will not greatly improve this team. We need to hire a DC and let him overhaul the entire department.

I honestly think the secondary will be very good once the new DC realizes that they need a pass rush. That will make everyone back there look great.

Agreed. Vaccarro, Lewis, and Byrd have all had excellent seasons in the past, and Breaux is in the middle of one. Swann looked like a solid nickel CB before he started having his concussions. And PJ Williams will hopefully help out next year. They won't be an elite unit, but they will at least be a very low priority in FA/draft.

Can we quit the delving breaux is great narrative? He started out solid but has collapsed along with the rest of our defense

Is that not what Ryan did? He just didn't do it well.

No he hasn't. He had a bad game against arguably the best WR in the NFL. He didn't allow a catch yesterday.

He's been the best secondary player this season. Vacarro is MIA most of the game

But he is good. There is a lot there to be hopeful about.

Hardly.
He wasn't allowed to change any positional coach.

And that has to be Ryan's fault. Why is one of the most athletic guys on the defense not being cut loose?

Best WR in the NFL? Who is that? Breaux has become inconsistent. He has potential.

Stop making excuses. He;s not the only DC to have had those kind of problems. He is just not very good at his job. Look at his history, been bouncing around the league for years. A solid DC doesnt get fired every 3-4 years.

No coordinator could have done much of shite with this year's talent and injuries we've had to deal with. Browner probably wasn't Rob Ryan's idea. Whomever made the executive decision on that dude should be fired and held accountable. Keenan hasn't played a game close to 100% yet, without him, our secondary is a patch job fricking disaster... who's the 2ndary coach??? Byrd surely wasn't Rob Ryans call neither.

A rookie shutdown corner who shut down Julio Jones and has maybe 2 bad games against phenomenal veteran recievers but has otherwise been outstanding?
