Lol why would we trade our only competent and healthy player in the secondary

Sometimes. He hasn't proven to be worth a big pay day and this season is maybe already down the toilet. If they can get something good for him now I'm cool with it.

vaccaro is an OLB, not a safety.

we should just move him there permanently like so many other teams with these tweener S/LB and call it a day.

Put Vaccaro next to a guy like Greg Robertson or Anzalone and you'll realize Vaccaro is not an OLB. A hard hitting safety does not make someone an OLB, just like a hard hitting RB doesn't make someone a fullback. He'd never be able to take on FBs and Olineman all game long.

Go ahead and trade him. This defense is awful with him so it can't get any worse.

News flash vacarro really isn't that good.
Just think about how many impact plays he makes a game. He is def I repeat def not worth the money he is asking for he is a decent safety and Vonn bell has great tackling insticts at a tenth of the money.
Give Vonn bell another year he was a rookie last year and needs to learn but Vonn bell is a hard hitter with a nose for the ball.
If vacarro wasn't a first round pick nobody would want him cause he isn't that good

sportsnaut blog. Based off of Canfora's tweet. Don't know if we would get much for him. Too inconsistent. Peaked his rookie season.

Vaccaro is a good player.

He was abysmal last week, and with this news, it seems like something is going on.

Problem is you don't know which Vaccaro will show up from week to week. After the personal foul called on him he just disappeared.

Point is, the season just started. Am I confident they'll be a playoff team at this point? No. But, they lost one game, away, against an elite defense. Blowing it up would be throwing in the towel with 15 games to go. That would be ridiculous. Let the rest of the year play out. If Payton has another 7-9 season, which seems likely, then you blow shite up.

1 game into the year and we want to blow it all up.

Blow what up? The defense already sucks and Bell is not that much of a downgrade from KV. Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams would still be one of the more talented safety duos in the league, and both are younger than Vaccaro. If you can get a decent draft pick for him you absolutely do it.

Maybe a 2nd? Maybe a pass rusher? I don't know what a team would give for him.

If you are trading at this point it almost has to be for a player and I would say that is either a CB or OT.

I agree with the poster above that said at this point nobody on the defense should feel safe. I don't know if I could go that far, but it would be a short list.

Jordan, Rankins, Lattimore, Bell and Williams. That is about it.

Psuedo tough guy with no nose for the ball. He has been part of the problem rather than the solution. A run stopping safety lol

He's akin to Mark Barron if he would've never been moved to LB

Typical saints move would be to resign him to
big money

Exactly. Zero ball skills, low football IQ. Kenny Vaccaro's are a fine a dozen which makes him another disappointing 1st Rd pick under this regime.
