I just had a "holy shite" moment... Been dicking around all over TD for the last 45 minutes or so and JUST NOW NOTICED THIS!

He was far and away the most deserving eligible former Saint for some time now. I think that many of the HOF decision-makers had long since pigeon-holed him due to his past off-the-field issues... not realizing that for years now he's been "making amends"... and not "just enough to stay out of court" type amends. Low and behold, the Saints in the forefront this year and they saw his stats (again realizing how amazing they were) but decided to see what he's been up to.

I saw on here earlier that they hoped that Jim Mora would introduce him if he made it. I couldn't agree more. I know he was never a man of many words... but I imagine there will be some echoes of Michael Irvin's speech... and even more DOOOOOOOOOOOOME PATROL!

Barbara Billingsley could translate!!

Seriously, congrats to City Champ! I tend to agree with Phil Simms, who said this week that the Hall has gotten watered down with players who had great careers, but were not truly Hall of Fame type players. Simms and Collinsworth said there is almost a need for a Hall of Fame WITHIN the Hall of Fame, just to highlight the truly special, outstanding players!

Rickey Jackson was a beast, and he was the best of the Dome Patrol. He played the run, dropped into pass coverage, and rushed the passer, and was excellent at all phases of his game. Swilling would not have had such revenue-generating stats without RJ at the other end.

Hell, if Harry Carson is in the HoF, Rickey deserves to be there, too!!!

Again, it's about time. Never thought the first saints player in HOF would happen in same year as Super Bowl. The year of firsts. No one will beat the Saints today!!!

I have had my Ricky Jackson jersey on for the New England, Arizona and Vikings games. It’s the only NFL jersey I have ever owned. How fitting that Ricky gets in this year and t he Saints are in the Super Bowl!
