The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly among a number of teams interested in the services of quarterback Robert Griffin III, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Speaking with NFL GameDay on Sunday morning, Rapoport said Griffin could arouse interest not only from Philadelphia, but from the Cowboys, Texans, Saints, “or wherever current Saints head coach Sean Payton lands.”

quote:

Rapoport cited the Texans as another possibility, given the kind of talent they have at the wide receiver position. He also noted Sean Payton’s potential interest: “If Payton decides to move on from New Orleans, he’ll be looking to pull off a similar coup to the [Drew] Brees trade and start fresh. Or, he’d just be looking for a suitable backup for Brees that could be groomed into a potential replacement.”

Isn't he under contract next year? Meaning if he were to leave it would be because he was fired and not that he "decides to move on?"

What trade? There was a Drew Brees trade?

It kind of annoys me when writers can't be bothered to get simple facts correct.

He could easily talk to the owner and say I want out. After all, who is going to want a coach that does not want to be there.

My preference would be to keep Sean, but this is a situation I see playing out.

I'd be fine with a two year very cheap deal. The guy has physical talent, needs an offense catered to him and he would do fine. If Grayson can't beat out RG3 then he sucks. This year is horrible for drafting high end qbs anyway.

Yeah let's replace the greatest player in franchise history with a guy who can't beat out Kirk Cousins

Where in there does it say the Saints are interested? Sounds like only if Payton leaves that's someone he would want.

I quit life if RGIII is on the saints with the intention of using him as a Qb.

Slot receiver...maybe

RG3 would be all-pro under Payton. The Redskins don't want to pay $15M injury clause to him.

So sick of the anti-Drew threads too. It's one thing to 'groom' a QB for the future, but the anti-Drew threads are dumb.

Good. Low risk, potentially high reward.

Guy had an amazing start to his career before that shitty franchise decided it was fine to throw him out there on 1 leg.

I remember Dr Andrews walking on the field with an, "I told you dumb fricks" look on his face after Griffin's leg buckled.

I would rather slam my dick in a door than have the Saints sign Robert Griffin.
