Realistically, who’s our QB next year?

If Dalton is starting next year I’m gonna burn down the Superdome, so don’t you dare. Beyond that… no 1st round pick, no cap room. What can we do - realistically? Probably needs to be someone willing to take 20 mil or less.
Baker? Teddy two-gloves? Derek Carr (who may be cut)? Jimmy G? Minshew?
Who seems most likely (or who do you want)?

None of those. I wouldn't mind Minshew though. In New Orleans, he would thrive as a character.

The way Dalton has played this year is better than all of these.

I said in a thread last off-season, need to take whatever qb that will play for the least amount of money to showcase his skills on a one year incentive deal. We need to finally get our cap straight. And now we’ll be stuck with another 12 million of dead money b/c of Winston if we cut him. So you almost have to go with him or

Start looking at the same names as last year, Dalton, Minshew, Bridgewater, Darnold, Mayfield. Whoever wants to start and believes in himself to do an incentive deal that’s cheap.

Your mouth shouldn’t make bets your arse can pay. Not to mention you just left evidence on a public forum that you’re going to burn down the Dome.

Dalton is the realistic answer. With good health from the team and MUCH BETTER coaching (from someone not named Dennis Allen), Andy Dalton is good enough to make a run.

Tom Brady once Sean Payton returns or Hendon Hooker in the 2nd round

The cap for QBs is exploding. Before the FA market this off-season further pushes the limits, $20M is already the 15th highest paid QB.

You should actually want Dalton on a 2-3 year deal so the team can shite the bed one more year while the team gets closer to fixing the cap and having a good 1st rounder in 2024. Then you draft a rookie and let him go into the season playing behind Dalton until he’s ready to take over (whether that’s game 1, game 8, or 2025)

I'd say it doesn't matter next year. Let's go 0-17 and start the rebuild off right with the #1 pick in the 2024 draft.

dalton is fine in as far as what we can get and/or afford. might not even be able to afford dalton. he's an efficient qb who's in the same ballpark as anyone else we can get for 23'.

If you are going to have a stop gap like minshew or Teddy, you may as well just keep Dalton.

Carr is probably the only one of those that are a reasonable enough upgrade.

Honestly I think the best one year option that would be extremely cheap yet you’d get solid production would be signing Jacoby Brissette. You could probably get him for $5 million and you could bring Dalton back too as insurance and backup for cheap. I don’t think I would pay steep value one year deal to Jimmy G. Teddy Bridgewater would be another good option to look at and depending g what happens with Daniel Jones in New York and Taylor Heinicke in DC they could be options too. But bang for your buck give me Brissette.

A decade of futility at Cincinnati says hi. And now he's old. You're stupid.

Unless you get someone significantly better you roll with Dalton, I’d take the hit and unload Thomas and Kamara for whatever I could get and hope Payton coaches again and get extra picks. Roster on offense needs a complete overhaul

You would be paying more for them to play on another team than your own. Thomas and Kamara CAN’T get moved because of their contracts. We have to keep them. No team will trade for those contracts unless we add draft pick with it and that makes no sense. You hope next year Thomas can get healthy and Kamara plays better. That’s all you can do. I would draft a RB I’m this draft if I’m the Saints though. May be late rounds but I’m taking someone.

Seeing as there is no viable way to make a significant upgrade he is basically all you got.

What's your solution genius?

Aren’t we on the hook for one more year with Winton or it’s $10M or so in dead cap space?

That's not happening. Just accept it. It's time to move on from all these injury prone duds.
