yes the players we picked at those spots were BPA and graded higher then the players we NEEDED that were there on the board for us and could help us win now. BPA is a BS rule that makes 7-9 teams stay as 7-9 teams while adding "stars" to their rosters.

Hard to follow your logic. So if a team takes a bunch of average players that they "need" won't they still be pretty bad?

I'm shocked that you'd come up with a number that seemed high

49 would have led the NFL last year as a team

Pretty sure both will easily beat 1.5 sacks. Wanna bet on that?

What's a "huge upgrade" over 1.5?

I'll take the under on your 11 total that you predicted. I believe that'll go the way of your 12-4 prediction last year or Malcolm butler guarantee. Name the terms

Make specific terms. Can't uphold a bet if it isn't clear what number is actually being bet on.

Why would we want to get rid of 2 of the best posters on here for a year?

If either one of y'all are right, how about the other idiot predicting 1 sack per player on our main guys upfront.

Gonna have a 20+ sack drop this season

never said take any "average" players, there were lots of top rated defensive players that may not have been graded as high as lattimore but they were a better fit at a position of "need" for us and DONT have a history of constantly being on the sidelines with injuries.

hey if lattimore never gets hurt ever, wow, the saints will be geniuses for making that pick but that is an insane risky gamble you don't take when you have a 30th ranked defense that cant stop anybody. that's what im saying. we got into making a risky pick just because its a lottery ticket with great upside when there were less risky gambles that you needed there like taking Barnett or someone else they had in mind before lattimore fell to them. we needed a solid pressure DE at 11 and they had choices for us there that they let pass to taker the risky guy that's always injured hoping he magically somehow never has another injury. I see him as being another Robert meachum, lots of talent and skill but cant stay healthy

Wait, so cornerback wasn't a position of need?

What?

Every player can get injured. Barnette could year his ACL day 1. You can pretty easily and accurately test out the flexibility and stability of a hamstring.

Barnette has had hamstring issues too btw....

Jesus Christ man. You can't make this shite up. How many games did Meachem even miss from 2009-2011? His problem wasn't his health with the Saints, he was just never more than a burner and a good blocker. His issue was talent.

And Lattimore played basically uninjured last season and was phenomenal. It's a fricking hamstring, he'll be fine if he takes care of his body.

-and that's said as someone who's torn their hamstring.

last time I checked our corner backs weren't our main guys we rely on for pressuring the QB now were they?

Need bone to agree to the terms to make this official. Also, is this supposed to be a ban from Saints Talk or from tiger droppings?

As an aside ban bets are kind of silly. I need you on the fantasy board to keep me from fricking up my team too bad. Make like a sig or avatar bet if you are going to do one.

A pass rush is useless if the QB can unload the ball at will as we saw plenty last year

Also, just because a pass rush isn't a need, that doesn't mean that corner isn't also a need.

Furthermore?, we likely have the best defensive line we've had in the Payton era.

And on top of that, teams with great secondaries can generate quick throws and QB pressure via blitzing. See Arizona before Chandler Jones.

You seriously predicted 1 sack per main member of our front 4. that means that Cam, Fairley, and even Rankins all greatly reduce their totals from a season ago. He'll, Okafor had 3.5 last year in limited snaps.

Come on man, you're making a fool of yourself.

quote:

teams with double digit leads on us wont need to throw it so yes very few sacks

How many games did the Saints lose by double digits last year?

We have 3 players that are very, very good at generating pressure for their positions. We then have Okafor, Kikaha, Hendrickson to hold down the other side. One of those guys can get the job done. We're not worse.

11 ain't a push. 10 or less you were right. 11 or more I was right. No pushing here. Either or.

Also hope you are wrong, but not to see you banned. Means a good year.

But I'm that confident in them.
