I'm just on Saints talk minus being in the wwe thread lately. Could just be Saints talk for him and board ban for me. I'm fine with that.

I see our defense as being the same or only slightly better then last year and offense slightly better then last year as well but slightly better wont get you any more wins then last year.

there was great opportunity to "greatly" improve the pressure we put on opposing QB but chose not to do that.

at the end of the year when they are 7-9 or 8-8 I don't want to hear you talking any bullshite because you just stated we had a great draft and didn't need to do better.

while I don't think we had a bad draft, I think we could have done much much better to improve the team

at this point we better hope to find a starting DE from the undrafteds that is unstoppable

Would hate to see you go, but 11 seems pretty unlikely. They could both have relatively good years and not reach 11 together. We're just getting rid of posters who actually put effort into their posts with this.

How can they only be slightly better? Upgrades at LB, pretty much keep the same secondary with additions of much better players, and the DL gets a whole year of Rankins plus Okafor.

I mean I guess they could regress, but I don't see how. This is Allen's 2nd full year, players are comfortable with him and the scheme now. As long as we stay healthy idk how we couldn't AT LEAST have a top 18 defense

I'm very confident together they can hit 11, and want to show I'm not saying it just to say it. I truly believe it.

If it comes back to bite me so be it. I like to be optimistic.

Jordan-12
Kikaha-7
Rankins-8
Fairley-6
Hendrickson-4
Davidson-4
Okafor-2
Onyemata-4

I think Jordan will have a new Season high because he will finally have some help; and the DB's will cover up receivers better thsn they have the last few years.

Kikaha will be interesting I think. He had 4 sacks in his first 6 games in 2015 but didnt get another sack the rest of the season.

And we had 30 sacks last year, not 1 per player. Brilliant

We've improved all 3 levels of the defense this offseason.

We've added 3 edge players (4 that didn't play for us last year if Kikaha is healthy) plus got a FS that allows Vaccaro to play in the box or near the LoS.

fricking brilliant. What's wrong with Hendrickson?

Sure could have helped against Oakland, NY, Denver, Tampa, and KC. It's a game of inches

As of now, we have Lattimore, a healthy Breaux, a healthy PJ Williams, to go along with a more experienced Bell, Vaccaro. At linebacker, we added Klein who's far better than JL, and allows Robertson to play outside. Also frees up Ellerbe and the UF guy.

On the defensive line, we get a healthy and more experienced Rankins, Fairley, Cam (who's exceptional), and 4 possible solutions at DE, 1 who's already proven to be able to rush the passer. 3/4 of our dline has well above average pass rushing ability for their position.

But you have an injury crystal ball

and you see our defense like its now going to be one of the best in the league in your crystal ball

I prefer to wait until such time as the players "show" that they made us better, before I go "assuming" vast improvement over the 7-9 team we had last year.

we made a good bit of "upgrades" at positions, but they were upgrades from "mediocre" players to "good" solid production type of players, they were not exactly the type of great players that would allow you to just assume it instantly wins more games for us.

I see us getting more than 1-2 sacks per player on our front 7

Lets bet on it: if the Saints get more than 12 sacks (2 per contributor on the front 4), $200 to the charity of my choice. If they become the worst pass rushing team in NFL history with less than 12, I'll donate $500

Where have I said it will be one of the best defenses in the league radio?

So we've upgraded a good bit of players from mediocre to solid, but it can't translate to any more wins? No way, no how. Not like we lost a lot of close games. He'll, special teams improvement alone would have led to more wins.

I'm done man.

1 sack each sounds about right

Are you telling me Cam Jordan is only going to have one sack? I'll put any money on the over you want.
