Lots of people want to leave Greenbrier because they think it makes us soft.

However even outsiders have commented that the Saints camp has been one of the most physical they've been to.

Then we have the joint practice in the Texas heat, people are cramping up left and right, and we're soft again.

My question is "Does the heat really make you tougher?"
And does toughness translate into wins?

If both were true then all the teams in hot climates that play outside would be perennial playoff teams.

I really don't mind if they spend half of the preseason in cooler temps if it allows them to get more accomplish and avoid early injuries. Remember they practice outside from now on unless it's raining.

But I'd like to hear from you guys.

Greenbriar lined up with the Saints getting older and bad draft after bad draft catching up. So the Saints lacked depth and talent that made injuries stand out even more.

Also had nothing to do with Junior being a complete PoS. Practicing in Mississippi won't magically give the Saints a pass rush.

Poor conditioning makes you soft. Players who practice in cooler temperatures will inevitably cramp up in higher temperatures if they are not properly hydrated and acclimated.

That's a good point, but PJ Williams and Breaux are two of the players who had cramps, and I don't question their conditioning.

Well good thing the dome isn't outside and only 6 of our 16 games are outside. The hottest one @Tampa Bay is in december too.

aren't we going to be home in new orleans soon enough to acclimate to heat?

This.

If we played actual games in the heat, then maybe the Greenbriar would matter.

Until then,

They get more work done in the cooler temps. There's a couple of different ways to look at it.

On the positive side the heat makes you better able to handle the heat.
On the bad side it wears your body out quicker and makes recovery a bit longer.

Isn't it possible that we'd be cramping up this whole time if we had been practicing in the Southeast?

That interferes with practice.

All I care about is Strief, Breaux and Williams being okay. Are they okay?

The past few Super Bowl winners practiced in northern temperatures for training camp. Denver, Seatlle, New England, etc. shite is irrelevant really.

Are you saying there would be more injuries if we stayed here?

Also, our conditioning department is fricking horrible.

Their chances of injury in the July/August Louisiana heat would undoubtedly be higher, especially when you're just trying to get back into football shape.

That's funny. Because plenty of highschool and college kids do it without a problem.
