Your argument is illogical. Good pass rushers rush the passer most of the time. Teams rely more on disguising their when they don't have them. Teams aren't looking to trade good pass rushers for more well rounded linebackers.

If you actually send 5 at the passer you create a lot of confusion for the offensive line.

We had the 4th most sacks in the NFL with the 21st highest blitz percentage. That was in large part due to Junior's effectiveness, and getting pressure with 4 guys makes things a LOT easier for the secondary. You keep going on about "playing our LB at DE" like it's a problem. We spent a vast majority of our plays in 4 DL alignments.

I think our base was 4-2-5, correct me if I'm wrong.

We had a consistent base defense? To me it was kind of like one of those weird throw-together meals that turns out amazing that you can't recreate.

Which to me is a problem with depth and injuries at LB last year. I think Butler will be a solid contributor and possibly fit better in that dynamic LB that can play the run too.

We were in a nickel or some other sub package 75% of the time. Most of that was 3 safety sets, rushing 4. Our sack totals were a testament to our d-line winning one on one match ups and our secondary fielding consistently good coverage.

Galette can play the run just fine. Repeating this falsehood doesn't make it true.

Yeah I think Ryan came here with very little pressure on him because it didn't look like we had a lot of talent at the time and we would be happy with anything other than the worst defense ever so he was willing to experiment more. There's no doubt he knows how to put his players in position to succeed though.

Junior will be on the field at all times for the most part next season. Not having him rush the passer significantly hurts our ability to get pressure.

Taking out the statement about the run, he still had issues in over-pursuit against rushing QBs. Is this a falsehood too?

So you are uninformed about commenting on the other players?

I just see Landry being a great pro and so far from what coaches have said Landry is doing as well as cooks respectively.

The problem is that Landry has a lower ceiling. He's never going to be an explosive player.

Cooks brings that to the table

Holy crap work on your comprehension skills. Uh Verrett in first round, Jarvis in second, and we still have our third rounder.

And ya I can comment on other players... I just have a lot of confidence in Landry, more than others because I've seen his best and know he will be a great nfl wide receiver. Quit trolling.

I simply think having one of your LB playing as a DE every down he's in is a liability in run/scramble defense

Well he was really a DE last year. He certainly wasn't a liability to us

Verrett in first round

The same Verrett that went at 25, when the Saints' original pick was 27?
