If CSP wants to leave that's one thing. If he is pushed out in any way, we have officially hit rock bottom.

Bingo. His contract is going to be a huge detriment. If they truly want to get rid of him, they might not get as much as they think because other teams will use his contract against him.

If the Saints do allow Sean Payton to leave, I'm terrified as to who will replace him and who the QB will be going forward. Really, really terrified.

This.

There is a reason that every team that needs a coach is interested in him. There is no one better out there right now. We would be dumb to trade him for anything less than a king's ransom.

I love CSP, but if someone is willing to take Byrd's contract, give us a decent player and give us three first rounders and a conditional third, I'm going to sit down and listen.

If Saints trade Payton, i'm thinking a 2 and a 3 pick will seal the deal. I doubt we end up with a 1. I'd say that Philly is likeliest of destinations followed by a distant indy/ny giants combo. I see Payton wanting giants but i don't see giants making that type of trade/move etc.

I don't think there is a way for someone to take Byrd's contract. $6.6 million of the dead that would hit at one time if traded or released is signing bonus. I'm pretty sure that's on our cap regardless. I'm not positive how things work, but I'm pretty sure they don't work like that.

Yeah this is where I'm at as well. If you really think about it, the idea that a guy like Drew Brees (who will wind up being one of the best to ever play the game) was hiding out, unused, on someone else's roster is really a freakin' miracle. It's possible nothing like that will ever happen again... which means we will be on the same carousel as everyone else, hoping we can find a stop-gap veteran to tide us over while we hope to strike gold with some unproven draft pick. Ugh.

I know that but it was only like 5 days ago. Just putting it in the mix of what we are talking about in here.

Anyway nobody is going anywhere. Wish yall would just see that.

I think he was just responding to my musings on life after Brees by saying relax he says he's not going anywhere. True, but it's going to happen eventually, I'm not in a hurry to make it happen sooner rather than later by pushing CSP out the door.

maybe it is probably payton returns, but there's obvious things that they both know need to be discussed and worked out. Never know when you get egos in a room... No need to be all absolute in this but there's obviously smoke leaking from a tight sealed organization.

I'm dont know for sure if he'll end up leaving or not. but to act like its not being entertained is ignorant.

What is Drew Brees supposed to say to the media?

"oh yea I dont want the guy that made me to come back and coach me".

I know you arent the smartest guy, but c'mon
