If that's the case, it better be for the entire 2nd round.

This is starting to look Ike Loomis and Payton don't have the relationship we all thought

Definitely this.

This is making me wonder if Loomis told Payton to get rid of some of his buddies and Payton balked and told him "no."

The only good thing if Payton leaves is all the incompetent assistant coaches will move on.

A while back it was reported CSP did not like Loomis sharing duties with the Pelicans but who knows.

Could it also be that Ian Rapaport is nuts? And that he was wrong about stuff about the Saints in the past as well?

Yep. Keeping Loomis over Payton is beyond retarded.

Lack of solid ownership destroyed this Saints era. Saints are dead for a while till a new ownership is established.

Loomis, Benson and everyone else need to go

Absolutely. These reporters are like the weatherman, no one holds them to accountability if they are wrong. And if they are wrong, they'll just make a blanket statement like "something happened to disrupt the deal, per sources."

It's really an amazing job, and almost anyone can be a reporter in the age of Twitter.

With so many teams possibly interested , its hard to fathom that a 2nd is the best they can do.

This. With all the made up stories about Miami and Indy and 49ers and South Carolina and the District 5 pee wee hockey team being interested, there's no way this is what demand would dictate the price be.

All that goes to show is that the media created a story out of nothing and the media just keeps self perpetuating a non-story.

Bunch of people on NFLNetwork talking about it would take more than a 2nd.

Glazer is the one to be worried about

I agree, but Glazer was on at half time of another game and retracted a little. He said it's not that anyone is preparing to move on, just that Loomis and Payton will meet on Monday and expect other teams to be interested.

I'd expect Loomis and Payton to meet Monday. I expect every coach and GM of any team not in the playoffs to meet Monday. That's not news.

This made up bullshite reporting is infuriating!!!

How does this work? This is the ownership that won a Superbowl. The other 26 or 27 teams who didn't win a Superbowl since then are also victims of poor ownership?

Few teams actually repeat. If you must assign blame, it falls on Payton and Loomis who didn't pick enough good players through the draft and free agency.

payton has baggage that gruden didn't: bountygate, medicine cabinet-gate. he has the ring gruden didn't but teams wil probably use that and the contract as leverage.

that said, if they accept a deal for a 2 they should all kill and/or fire themselves.
