When does he not have a position he drastically overlooks every year and thinks is "okay" not to address? He did it for years at C, Corey White, now both G positions, etc.

Brees might be dead by the end of the year with Lelito and Evans blocking for him. How anyone thinks Lelito is going to be good is beyond me. He couldn't push terrible offensive lineman in front of him the past few years so how is he better? What sucks is it looks like Armstead is really starting to develop, Strief is still solid and Unger looks like a great player. It's just unfortunate now the biggest weakness will be the 2 most important positions for Brees...

Evans has looked horrible all camp and it was pointed out multiple times so it's not just a 1 game thing for him. He's done, period. Lelito has hope...could just be he looked bad in his first game as a full time starter.

Lelito actually looked pretty decent and graded out well. He did much better than Evans for sure

Lelito looked okay the other night. The only offensive lineman I would have great concerns about is Jahri Evans. God damn I think he's done.

Okay can go to ugly real quick once the regular season comes & defenses begin to scheme to attack a team's weaknesses. Lelito had his share of pressures allowed the other night in just one on one blocking. It makes me nervous to think about teams running blitzes or defensive line stunts at him when the bullets start flying for real.

No, just commenting on observations so far. Is there a bit of worrying going on? Yes. Is it time to melt? Not even close.

Well

Brees has a mouth

He must not think Evans is too bad or one would think he would say something to his coach.

If Brees had said something i certainly don't think Payton would be giving his vote of confidence about evans to the media

He allowed 1 pressure, a hurry in 24 snaps

It seems every year there's a player who's time has past and we have to watch them die a slow death. I don't want some prolonged death march that derails the season, and I'm afraid of it because Evans was in Payton's first draft class.

"Hey coach, I think we have an issue at Right Guard. Can we get someone else in?"

"Sure, take a pay cut."

So you think Drew is not a coach on the field.

You think he and the HC don't talk about the status of players on the offense.

You think the QB and the HC are not self scouting.

You are an idiot.

So what do you want him to say? Come out and throw a player under the bus that has been a key part of Payton's success? Sean Payton has eyes. So does his staff. If you think Jahri's performance isn't being discussed behind closed doors (where it belongs) you are kidding yourself.

Go back to the O-T lounge, you obviously know more about boiling crabs than you do about football.

The salary cap is a real thing.

What do you think he should do?

Hard to believe Brees would risk his career. If he thinks Evans is a liability, he will speak up.

What do you think are the viable options for change?
