Wuh uh.

Payton gave the, "im under contract for 2 more years," answer.

Followed by, "i dont wanna coach another 10-15 years."

"I wanna spend more time with my family"

Absolutely no doubt in my mind he'll be in nola for the next two years. After that...

When did Sean Payton become Urban Meyer?

So basically, he'll be the coach of the Saints for only two more years and then after that he's moving on. Great. We finally get a good coach but he doesn't like New Orleans.

Sounds to me like Momma doesn't like New Orleans. Every man knows they have to keep Momma happy.

That's a pessimistic conclusion. I prefer to take him at his word, that he wants to end his career with the Saints, but not in 2 years. Not to be coach for another decade, but also not for as little as 2 years. Somewhere in between.

Imo, thats the path he's taking. From his own mouth he says he wants to get out of coaching early enough to coach his kids.

I think he's going straight into tv whenever he's done. He has his own show in New Orleans and goes on television anytime he gets a chance. Was shopping a movie, etc

Maybe he wants to become Saints GM after 2 years and then hand the reins over to Gregg Williams?

He was an Assistant Coach in this league for a long time paying his dues to one day be a Head Coach. He's obtained that and has a relatively short tenure thus far as a HC.
He has a fair amount of years ahead of him as a HC, IMO. My nervousness is whether or not he's trying to establish a framework to one day be a part of the Dallas organization in which he once worked.
Remember Jerry Jones was spotted dining in a New Orleans restaurant mid season on a Sunday night after a game.

Sean Payton is replaceable. He's a good coach, but the Saints can do just fine without him.

There are only 6 current super bowl winning coaches and Payton is one of them, don't be stupid

He needs to be offered a long term extension asap, and we'll see what happens from then on
