I think its good to incorporate cross fit activities into your regular work out routine. But cross fitters are more like a cult. It's all they do, all the talk about, all they post on social media, etc., etc. etc.

I don't care about your WOD. I don't care that you don't do other workouts because it's not as good as what you do. I don't care that you took a picture of you doing incorrect pull ups. Just stop shoving your religion in my face!

CF gets a lot of hate by traditional gym goers because it appears to preach quantity over quality. I've seen many videos of people doing tons of incorrect pull-ups, push-ups, ect. Also, it's been my experience that most cross fitters don't shut the frick up about cross fit.

Jesus Christ, amen. Saw some cat the other day in the gym doing box jumps and going straight into some sort of pull ups. He almost split his damn shins open 4 times and looked like he was humping the equipment when doing his version of "pull ups".

CrossFit is good cause it gets people actually doing something. The problem is, most crossfitters (the ones you DON'T see on TV) haven't ever done any exercise in 5-10+ years. So their form is fricked, they don't exactly know what they're doing and most tend to get injured and quit working out all together.

Lol! I have a friend on facebook who constantly hates on people for hating crossfit, then proceeds to mock normal bodybuilding.

within in the next 10 years, i believe a ton of sports teams across all avenues will incorporate CF into their training.
Crossfit has been being done for tennis, golf, swimming and sports like that for the last 20 or so years.... But someone smart enough came around and labeled it crossfit instead of just generic circuit training

No, they hate it because it's a threat to how they make their livelihood. I'm talking trainers. If they don't start adapting they are really going to start losing money in the future. It's why a ton of normal gyms are now incorporating CrossFit classes.

Globo-gym goers invented the gym selfy.

It's not generic circuit training though. I'm not sure those people were doing Olympic & powerlifting moves for training 20 years ago, among other things

All I know is that in 2002(so 12 years ago) our main workout consisted of 10 stations, with the stations being 1.weighted box jumps 2. Burpees 3. Pullups 4. Cleans 5. Squats 6. Weighted Lunges etc... for a timed 30 seconds each with 3 total rotations. We called them circuits. Crossfit took that, added some cool ropes and shite, called a gym a box, had a great marketing campaign, and become a million dollar industry

Not denying that, but we in Louisiana didnt have a clue what that was then. The root of crossfit is old school circuit training with better marketing. That is all im saying. It is basically the Yeti cooler of the training world.

It's more like saying football is rugby's Yeti.

They may not have invented it, but perfected it

Saints are going to add CF the right way.. not like the retards do it at your local box. And by "adding it the right way" I mean olympic lifts (that they already do) combined with circuit training for time

I'm still laughing at that study in which close to 15% of the participants dropped out due to injuries caused by the program

Army Special Forces the last 3 years has spent a lot of money on strength and conditioning due to the number of operators being injuried. With constant deployments and training year round, a lot of green berets were receiving injuries that required surgery. Crossfit type workouts have been implemented into physical fitness to fix this. Results have been very positive so far.

Professional athletes with professional trainers vs amateurs and out of shape average joes.

Athletes vs fat asses

Talent vs no talent

Good form vs bad form

That isn't really that intense of a workout by Crossfit standards (although of course I'm positive they are lifting heavier weight than most could)...that's great though. I really enjoy crossfit and never understood the OTs hatred for it.

so the programming is not different, the people are. You should be more clear next time

Also being a professional athlete has nothing to do with good weightlifting form. Half of the Saints players look like idiots playing in a charity softball game, despite being professional athletes.

It's clear you have no idea what you're talking about

absolutely, my problem is with the people. novice trainers coaching your average joe is obscenely dangerous. professionals coaching elite NFL athletes on steroids.. productive.
