One of the most important games in the Payton era is this Sunday.

The title says it all. Going up against the team that has continuously given us fits for the past 11 seasons. A win right here could be huge, giving us the possibility of a 2-2 start going into the bye. A loss will seal Payton's fate after the season. I for one wanna see some good Saints football. I'm not asking for the defense to be world beaters but I wanna see a turnover or two and see Dennis Allen be more conservative. I wanna see the run game punch someone in the mouth and open up the pass game. We need to see the Payton that wanted to put up 40+ points on Gregg Williams last year. This Sunday will be a pivotal point for this franchise.

Cam doesn't throw short quick passes. Their OL is putrid as well.

If we can't improve defensively vs them, call the brees era over.

Not to mention they have a few notable injuries including Olson and Newton.

You people do realize that Tom Benson would have to eat 36 million dollars if he fired Payton right?

it goes like this:

just because "you" or even "most fans" have had enough and declare this the "last chance game"

benson will NEVER eat a 36 million dollar contract and fire him, PERIOD.

JUST ACCEPT THAT FACT.

even if we go 0-16 for the next 5 years, payton will still be coaching here.

things are never changing unless benson dies, and they sell the team, and most likely even then, its not going to happen because of the iron clad poison pill of that guaranteed money.

Greg Olsen being out is a big break for our D.

You guys that think the Saints can win this game are crazy...and quite honestly its better that we don't. The less games we win that we have no business winning, the less our chances of putting together another mediocre year that puts us in the middle of the draft again. We aren't a playoff team, so if we aren't good enough to make a run for it, it would be nice to truly suck for a year or two in order to get some game changing top of the draft talent instead of just missing out on them by winning too many meaningless games.

We usually always play Carolina close, even when we are awful.

What the hell does he have to do with the defense? Payton era is over and should have ended sooner

Our D will get to Newton, but sadly, he will probably have a field day on scrambles. I imagine we go all out on coverage, so if our DE's break containment, he is running

What does Brees have to do with the defense getting better? Call the SP era over more like it
