I have no doubt that none of the parents would have been stupid enough to send their kids to school in a Colts jersey(just a little common sense is all it requires).

Seriously? the family is from Indiana, why is it crazy for him to wear a Colts jersey? yes, he is in Saints country, expect to get trash talk from kids, but sending him home is pathetic.

It probably was pathetic in that situation.

I was just saying that our rule at a private school was you either wear a Saints jersey or wear the uniform.
Rules do get followed at our school though.

but, to not allow a colts fan to wear their jersey is lame.

should be free to wear it, but also expect trash talk.

Sanity does not play in this game of grabbing the lawsuit gold ring. ALL public employees are targets for the ACLU and their rehearsed "victims". The taxpayer's pocket is deep.

FYI, he asked the principal the day before to wear the colts jearsey, was told no. The dress down day was to wear "Black and Gold" A female student who wore a Pink Saints Jersey also had to changge clothes.

Colts studend's issue was he argued with the principal and refused to cooperate.

He was originally from Indianapolis....dam yankies....

If this kid was just trying to stir up shite, I'd have no problem with it. But he was actually from Indianapolis.

Notice how this part of the story didn't make the news because if you include it, then there is no story.

The dress code wasn't changed to allow students to wear whichever football jersey/team colors he/she chose; it allowed the kids to wear black and gold. This kid wore blue and white, so he was punished for not following the rules.

Here's my issue with this...what purpose does sending the kid home serve? He misses a day of education and basically got a day off. I would rather have seen him receive some sort of in-school disciplinary action (i.e, detention after school, etc).

Kid should learn to follow RULES, doesn'y matter if you agree with them or not. Rules are rules. Very simple.

The ACLU is a big part of whats wrong in the world today. They can sniff out a shite stirrer almost as good as Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. The kid knew the purpose of why they were allowed Black&Gold instead of there uniforms and he knew it would start shite, that's why he did it. PERIOD.

The ACLU can kiss my WHODAT arse!

This principal is a fricking moron. I hope the ACLU sues the frick out of the school system. (And I absolutely loathe the ACLU)

You obviously loathe following rules as well. My kid goes to a school where he has to wear a uniform. This week they were allowed to wear Saints gear all week or their standard uniform. If I were to have sent him in anything other than those two things, I would have received a phone call from the school telling me to come get him. It is a very simple concept.

And...as much as I hate the kids wearing uniforms to school in the first place...the biggest key to discipline of any sort is consistency.

No, its called common fricking sense. Im perfectly fine with making exemptions for the Superbowl and allowing the kids to wear Saints gear. But if you are going to allow Saints gear, you need to allow Colts too.

The story stated black and gold. In my case, the school specifically stated Saints. I made sure that not only did he have black or gold on, but that the word "Saints" on what he wore. Otherwise, I would have sent him in his school uniform.

The rule is the rule. If this kid goes to the wrong school with this rule in place and he has idiot classmates, he's liable to get the beatdown. I certainly don't condone that, but unfortunately, there are idiots at every school. If he would have gotten beat up or had a prank pulled on him, he would be screaming that rights were violated, even though he clearly broke the rules.

Both the kid and the principal were wrong but the principal more so. The kid may have wanted to be provocative and stir the pot but the principal reacted in the worst possible way.

If it had been a situation where the school wore uniforms and students were given the choice of wearing that uniform or Saints gear then the principal would have cause for sending a student home who didn't adhere to the choices. However this is not the case and the principal should have let it pass.
