Did you miss the part about the girl wearing a pink Saints jersey treated in the SAME manner? Why isnt the ACLU taking up her case??

And you're right, I don't give a damn about the kid. But I'm not a fricking hypocrite like half of the respondents in this thread.

Lord knows if the situation was reversed they'd all be whining like little bitches.

The kid grew up in Indianapolis. This means he has more balls than most of you put together. Props.

Seriously just answer the question..

How were the rules applied to this kid ANY different than how they were applied to everyone at the school?

If a girl wearing a pink jersey is send home as well then CASE CLOSED you have no argument..

That is equally ridiculous.

I'm guessing it's because they thought they'd get more publicity out of the Indiana kid.

How is it rediculous? The days was to allow kids to wear BLACK AND GOLD

If they had a Jeans day and you wore Shorts then they should be allowed to break the rules? Nice.. Good way to teach our kids.

When I was in high school, the principal wouldn't have had to address this - we would have taken care of it in our own way, if you know what I mean.

I'm not arguing that the kid didn't break the rules. I'm arguing that said rules should have never been in place. They relaxed the rules to target one set of individuals, those that agreed with their beliefs.

How fricking difficult would it have been to say its "Superbowl Day", wear gear that supports the team you are rooting for.

Again, my issue is with the people who are laughing and saying its good for the little shite because he is a Colts fan.

Exactly....this is what is called "content based" restriction of free speech and it is unconstitutional in most cases.

But not in public schools....I'm pretty sure.

If this were not a public school, the kid would definitely have a case. Because it was in a public school, this may be a gray area. Still....it is an interesting case.

If its "black and gold" day and you can wear a SAINTS jersey, then thats the rules...

First its a Colts jersey, then a Rams jersey, then a Cubs jersey, and the next thing you know, your school now looks like The Sports Authority in the Esplanade Mall.

The uniform exception was for Saints ONLY... thats the rule

WRONG

The relaxed a dress code to target 2 sets of colors. Last I checked these were not gang colors they were clothing colors..

IF they in fact targeted one set of individuals the girl wearing PINK would have NOT been sent home. Your argument is a failure.

Stop acting like this was as simple as telling the kids they could wear brown polo shirts instead of white polo shirts. This was, or at least should have been about giving the kids a treat and relaxing the dress code rules to let them express their support for their team. Black and Gold only is a stupid restriction to impose in this situation. Good for the principal for making the kids follow the rules, bad for the principal for imposing stupid rules and setting kids up for failure.

And the point is the rule is possibly unconstitutional because it is content based.

You can laugh all you want moron but its a simple fricking fact..

Your claim in ignorant of the FACT that it can never be claimed to target a group because there is someone that should be in that group that they treated just like the colts fan..

This is clearly a black and gold issue and not a team issue.

It is exactly that!

If they allowed the girl in pink to stay then all these BS arguments might have merit but the fact is that they send ANYONE that didnt follow the dress code requirements home.. If the rule is applied equally to all then there is ZERO case for the ACLU.

Holy fricking shite....

Name one other issue with any significance right now that involves the specific colors of Black and Gold in the state of Louisiana?

Principal didn't make the rule...school board did. Principal just enforced it.
