Trade his dumb arse while he still has value

That would be great if it wouldn't cost us like 30 million in dead money against the cap over the next two years. Also, he wouldn't pull what yall think he would with his current injury and drama. Only shot he gets traded for a decent value is if he comes back mid season and lights it up and gets traded next offseason.

And you know what. I don't give a frick if they did. Drew did more for that franchise than MT will ever do for it.

The fact that the New Orleans Saints FO and HC failed to, in a timely manner, discern the many character flaws in this player disturbs me greatly.

He could have got surgery in late January then. Still no excuse. He even alluded that he wanted to be all in Drew’s last run.

So he could have had surgery in Sept....didn't...played on it...Then didn't need surgery in January.

He got bad advice or sought the advice he wanted.

Agree with the first part as it would save a little over $2M this year, but would hit the cap for about $23M next year.
But I disagree that you would need to wait until next season for max value. If he’s able to come back and get a few games in before trade deadline, could get some good picks for a desperate team. But, you most likely won’t luck into a top 10 pick

One of the "classes" offered to incoming NFL prospects should be titled, "How to Keep your Job."

Nonsense... I don't see the FO risking further injury on their $100 mil WR.

MT probably got a few different opinions, and shared them with the FO. I'm sure they then asked MT, "hey can you go?" in which MT replied "yes." Highly doubt we would urge any player to play thru injury that requires surgery.

Besides, play or not, MT still could have had the surgery sooner and been healthy for week 1.....

Perhaps urging him to play hurt isn't in the best interest of Thomas, which is understandable. However, in Brees' last year it seems like 110% was required in what seemed like their last real shot in Brees' career.

At best, the surgery should have been scheduled earlier than June. But I imagine that Thomas has been petty and allowed it to drag on.

It's a shitty situation, especially for one of the NFL's best players. If I'm the Saints, I try to mend the relationship because Thomas is valuable to the Saints as compared to other teams. If it can't be done, I have no problems with the Saints sending him packing.

Because he pulled a Scotty Pippen. Wanted to rehab during the season so he can be healthy for his offseason vacations. Athletes are the most spoiled people on this planet.

They didn’t urge him to avoid surgery in the off season.
