How is he not? Lead a top 3 offense every year since '06, and again is doing the same this year...

You guys ribbing Brees is honestly hilarious. You sound worse than the "know-nothings" that call radio stations. Let me guess, you'd like to get rid of CSP as well?

By that account, you'd be getting rid of a top 3 coach and QB.

Andrew Luck is literally the only QB I'd rather have than Brees right now, and I'd be hesitant to make that trade even if IND was dumb enough to accept it.

I agree this list could be endless. Vaccaro is one that is on the top of my list. This dude has done nothing that we would have expected out of what we thought was a game changer. Maybe his injured knee is taking a lot long to come back from.

Meachem is a waste!! Where in the hell is Joe Morgan? Cooks is a rookie but still is not no where close to what I expected to see. Just a terrible year so far, so disappointing words can't say.

Brees by a LARGE margin. The last 2 series should tell you all you need to know. He looked like a backups backup getting thrown in as a rookie.

Colston is second, imo. He doeant draw attention anymore, except maybe goal line ops

My vote is either Cooks or the coaching staff. He's not being used at all like I was expecting. Not as good as hyped, or we're not utilizing what he can do? PT is really the only playmaker we have, and we don't use him that often.

I'd ordinarily say defense, but I'm somewhat numb to the Saints under performing on that side of that ball.

11-7 TD to Interception ratio isn't going to cut it. It's not even the interceptions themselves as much as when and how they come about. It's like he saves the most backbreaking INTs for the worst of times.

In the endzone against Atlanta. Takes away at least 3 points, lose by 3 in OT.

Pick 6 against Cleveland. Lose by 2.

Brutal game changer at Detroit. Lose by 1.

The Saints offensive line has been one of the worst pass protection groups in the whole league. They are allowing Brees to be pressured on 30% of his drop backs. The only game this season where they allowed pressure on less than 25% of drop backs is against Minny.

On the final 2 drives against the Lions he dropped back 11 times and was pressured on 8 of those. Armstead and Strief are responsible for 5 of those.

The Saints, Broncos, and Pats are a combined 9-1 when their QB is pressured on less than 30% of their drop backs. They are a combined 3-6 when they are pressured on more than 30% of drop backs.

Brees (1), Manning (4), and Brady (3) are a combined 8-0 when pressured less than 25% of the time.

30% is one of the better pressure rates in the NFL usually

The problem is that our number is lower due to the volume of passes and the short stuff that gets it out quick. He's at 32.4%, which ranks 17th

The players that made the most noise are the biggest culprits. I didn't expect PRob to be a shutdown corner, so he's not part of my list. What is on my list is what we all were fed/heard/saw from last year going into this year.

offense:
pass protection - after all the GREAT talk ending last year on an extremely high note with pass protection in the playoffs and the last 3 or so games of the regular season. I didn't think this line would become the Jags. This is an interior line issue, the tackles are doing well enough.

Colston - he had a great game. He looked like the Colston of old, but one great game doesn't erase the bad games where you were quiet. The Quiet Storm was too quiet for 4/6 games this season after reports of him finally being healthy, looking slender and quicker, he's just not doing what I expected him to do. Yes, he's still on pace for 960 yards, but we need him to be better if everyone else around him is going to play mediocre. If we have any hope of turning it around, he has to play at the same level all year that he displayed vs. Atlanta and Detroit.

defense:
Cameron Jordan - after a breakout 12.5 sack season where he constantly disrupted the offense by being a Watt-lite, he took a massive step back. This is the same guy that improved year after year in his sack #s as well. Did I expect >12.5 sacks? No, but I expected 9-10 sacks on the year. Through 6 games, he's got 1 sack. Last year, through 6 games last year he had 5 sacks.

Akiem Hicks - This guy was the "man-child", breakout DT of the year, blah blah blah that we were fed ALL off-season, this "monster" has been making as much noise as a puppy. He's not mauling or manhandling lineman, its the opposite.

Kenny Vaccaro - After a great rookie year where he was the joker, constantly moved everywhere and made tackles everywhere, he's been quiet. Its not a good quiet, safeties NEED to make noise and he's yet to do that. Whether its the lack of pass rush or the injury is still healing (ankle injuries linger, lets be honest), he's been quiet. This is my issue I've seen, as a rookie he was always "one step" too short to make a play and a few strong safeties are always that way, one step short, but improved. I saw it with Troy Polamalu and Kam Chancellor when they were rookies, so I thought Vaccaro was the same. I was wrong, hopefully an improved pass rush helps that out.
