Well I needed a good cry this morning.........

quote:

I sit somewhere on the razor's edge. I am so happy to hear my son say, I love you dadu. So happy I want to explode. But I also have fleeting, but agonizing moments of frustration as I watch my friends throw him giggling in the air. I just want so badly to hug him like I used to hug the people I love so much, to brush his hair or hold his hand.

Deep breath.........

I only got through the first page before I felt my "allergies" starting to act up. Will have to finish at home.

Read the whole thing. Gleason really is a tremendous person for the way he chooses to live, define and make sense of everything.

Great read that lends perspective to everyday life. Good for him for living his life to the fullest extent possible, being a caring husband and father, continuing his education w/ an MBA from Tulane, documenting his journey, etc.

I hope they are able to make a documentary out of his experience. Very inspirational.

He said he has many video logs from throughout the process of him finding out about it till today. They are definitely making one of his trip to Machu Picchu with another ALS patient, w/ Fujita.

People talk about which team has the best fans and which city shows the most support for its team. Why is there even a debate? In no other place would you have someone who is going through hell state:

[quote]I think my nickname could be "Delayed Conversation Man," thanks to the extra time it takes me to respond to things. I vaguely recall a Saturday Night Live skit of the same name back in high school, but could not find anything on YouTube, Hulu or Google. Example scene: Steve is hanging out with two friends. Friend 1: "Did you hear that Penelope Cruz might be the next Bond girl? What do you think about that?" As Steve furiously begins typing with his eyes, Friend 2 replies: "I doubt that is true. She seems a little bit old. Speaking of Bond ... I feel a little weird saying this but, I saw the most recent Bond movie with my mom." Steve: "That's fine by me. She is totally hot. In fact, she's on my hall pass list, approved by Michel." Awkward, uncomfortable silence. End scene. Read More: LINK ]

I wish this was at the top of the page instead of the other one. I hope it goes at least two.

Wow, what an incredible read and what a tremendous human being.

at the part where he wished he could hug his son or just brush his hair. That part really hit me hard, as "tight hugs" are my son's trademark.
