Been thinking about today. We are a awful football team. I see no light at the end. Signing Byrd was a mistake. Not drafting L. Collins and settling on Lelito was a mistake. Brees need to redo his contract. Not having a true number 1 receiver is killing us. No tight end threat is a problem. Drafting Peat in the first rd and have him watch from the bench is a mistake. He cannot be any worse than Strief was today. Every fricking pick from last year is gone except Cooks. The front office lack of evaluation has crippled this team. 25 new players this year is a disgrace. You cant win games with that much turnover. Front office is a fricking disaster.

You rolled blame Loomis, shite draft, La'el, Brees contract, and Graham into one thread.

Good job.

Original.

Its not original but its the God damn truth. Graham was not mentioned, that was actually a solid trade.

Excellent thread, full of new perspective that nobody has discussed before.

Why don't you go put a pistol a Goodell's head & demand our two 2nd rounders back so we can draft some guards in the upcoming draft? Sounds like a more solid approach than starting another bitch arse thread rehashing the same old repetitive garbage all over again.

You are absolutely right and I have good news: when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.

So you got that going for you, which is nice

perhaps. We paid a lot to get him and he really benefited from playing behind an awesome front seven in Buffalo. But we haven't seen enough of him here to really say otherwise.

no one else drafted Collins either.

I'm sure they'll figure something out if things don't get better... almost no chioce really IMO.

Cooks has gotten a lot of hype in the offseason...hasn't translated to field yet. Hope it does.. soon.

in our best years we had Shockey and Jimmy Graham... agree.

yeah, I'm not following that move so far either.

that had we worried from the get. I think we are rebuilding honestly. That is what it feels like anyway.

I could be way off there but that is fine with me

Last year, all of you guys were begging us to BLOW IT UP. START OVER.

So we traded and cut the fat and got 9 draft picks.
And we looked to new blood.

And now, after two games when the rookies haven't played amazingly, it's "there are too many new players!"

During the draft, no team was going to take a chance on La'el Collins until the investigation was complete. If the Saints had taken him in the 7th round, there was a good chance that Collins would have sat out the season to re-enter next year's draft. The Cowboys snatched him up in free agency and he will be there a long time. That situation was pretty much out of the Saints hands.

This year is going to be another lost one for Byrd. He has no feel for the other DBs because he's never played or practiced with them.

We drafted well this past season. Not all Rookies are freaks of nature. For some it takes a season or two of playing and getting used to things. We have a lot of injuries in the secondary. Once we get them healthy we will be okay on defense.

But Payton has left the offensive talent get to very subpar levels. Like Cleveland Brown offensive talent. Coleman and Snead are undrafted. Colston is a shell and Watson is old. Cooks is all we have at WR and he's not a true number 1. When your opponent doesn't respect your WRs, they can focus on the run.

We have talented backs, but it doesn't mean shite when you can't reall throw. We need a couple of WRs and more D in the upcoming draft. We just aren't there yet.

I mean you are probably right.

i was just trying to leave the door open for a comment and you pretty much said what I've thought for awhile too.

I'm sure most of us have thought the same thing.

one of the more bizarre things over the last couple of years regarding the Saints.

at least he was on the sideline at the game today and not a total sketch ball

It's just not the rookies. We have 10 players who have saw playing time today who were playing only in their second NFL game. How can you not expect some growing pains with this many inexperienced players.

1. Andrus Peat

2. Hau'oli Kikaha

3. Damon Swann

4. Stephone Anthony

5. Bobby Richardson

6. Tyeler Davison

7. Marcus Murphy

8. Brandon Coleman

9. Willie Snead

10. Delvin Breaux

The disappointment is in the veterans like Hicks, Vaccaro, Strief, Evans & Tim Lelito who all played bad at times through out the game especially Strief & Hicks. I can understand Lelito because he simply isn't that good & Evans is about at his end but Strief was solid just last week. The Hicks hype at camp can only come from him dominating a washed up Evans on a daily basis.

Don't forget a 40 million+ investment between two backs in an offense that will always be pass first and an offensive line who's always better at pass blocking. Oh, don't forget that the lesser of the 2 power backs got overpaid while the other is on league minimum and probably will be shipped off when his contract is up due to the investment in Ingram. Let's not forget they didn't even attempt to address WR concerns in an offense that relies on it more than anything else.

I'm not sure what kind of half-arse backwards logic Sean was going through his head when he thought these were good decisions. I thought we'd have more commitment to the run this season but so far it's a joke especially when he decides to run Ingram over Robinson who behind the same offensive line tears it up while Ingram regularly runs into the arse of his players.

We've made some absolutely horrible FA signings and it's a direct attempt at patching holes because we suck so bad at drafting. Because we suck so bad at the draft part we can't get cheap depth so we attempt to find a FA and overpay because that's the only way we can stay competitive in those positions. It's a recipe for disaster and you're seeing it all at once now. Loomis needs to be fired to start. Overdue for years now.

I agree with you partially.
But I was responding to the people who want us to "blow it up" and then are surprised we're not fielding a team of professional vets the next year.

Hicks has disappointed me for years. I've been vocal about that.
I'm not ready to give up on Lelito.
Evans is pushing the end. I thought Grubbs was better than him all along.
The Strief criticism is way over the top. Unless he aged 4 years since last week, I'm willing to let him have one bad game.

A few years ago, I posted on here that Loomis, Payton and the scouts were not cutting it. I said that having a bean counting guru as GM was nice, but, we really need a "football guy" as a GM -- somebody like a Bill Parcells.

Most everybody disagreed with me back then. NOW we all decide that the FO's not cutting it? It's probably too late now for that. That's a day late and a dollar short.

The Saints need a REAL football guy as a GM -- a guy who knows how to build an NFL roster because he's done it many times in the past.

Now, 2015 is gone. Only 12 percent of teams that go 0-2 to start make the playoffs, so, 2015 is gone. Get a real GM NOW who can start to make the changes for the future, because, you are correct -- THIS front office is not cutting it.

If the Saint's DON'T get a real football guy for GM soon, then, it's not going to get much better. Loomis, Payton and the scouts are not going to wake up one morning and suddenly know how to build an NFL roster. That's a pipe dream. Get a football guy as GM as soon as possible.
