Only part I disagree with. If Brees' goes down I doubt winning games is at the top of the list. If he goes down then run the ball a ton and get a high draft pick. Winning games at that point would only hurt the Saints.
If he goes down for the season then yea. If he is gonna be out just a couple weeks then you'd want McCown out there to at least give you better odds at winning those couple games.
I think either Saunders or Morgan make the team, don't see both getting cut. Also, I think Foster makes it. I can see us going in with 3 Tackles and 1 or 2 or practice squad.

3 things...
1 )Mike Golic Jr
2) Totally forgot we signed Kevin Williams.
3) I cannot believe our front office wasted a god damn 2nd round pick on Stanley Jean-Baptiste. swing and a fricking-miss!
eta: mother fricking Stanley Jean-Baptiste!!!

Meh, I still remember a RR quote last year saying those big CBs usually take a lot longer to get their technique down. I always prefer to see a rookie at least a couple years and see how they develop. Dude only played 2 years at CB before being drafted. We will see

Quarterbacks (3): Drew Brees, Luke McCown, Garrett Grayson (cut: Ryan Griffin)
I think we cut McCown and keep the other 2
quote:
Fullbacks (1): Austin Johnson (cut: Erik Lorig, Toben Opurum)
I think Lorig wins this one.
quote:
Wide receivers (5): Brandin Cooks, Marques Colston, Nick Toon, Brandon Coleman, Seantavius Jones (cut: Josh Morgan, Joe Morgan, Jalen Saunders, Willie Snead, R.J. Harris, Kyle Prater, Lance Lewis)
Nope Joe Morgan is not going anywhere. Add him to this list. We keep 6
quote:
Outside linebackers (6): Junior Galette, Anthony Spencer, Hau'oli Kikaha, Parys Haralson, Kasim Edebali, Davis Tull (cut: Ronald Powell, Markus Pierce-Brewster)
Tull to IR with designated to return.
quote:
Cornerbacks (5): Keenan Lewis, Brandon Browner, P.J. Williams, Delvin Breaux, Damian Swann (cut: Kyle Wilson, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Brian Dixon, Terrence Frederick)
Even though y'all want it to happen SJB isn't going anywhere. Switch him out for Swann, Swann to PS
Practice Squad:
Edwin Baker
Austin Johnson
Damian Swann
R.J. Harris
Jalen Saunders
Ronald Powell
Mike Brewster
Lawrence Virgil
Glenn Foster
Kaleb Eulls

Johnson is much better.

At catching the ball but Lorig is better at run blocking so it really comes down to what they want him to do. This one could really go either way.
Honestly I would rather Johnson myself

Two biggest things I disagree with are that I think Griffin over McCown is almost guaranteed at this point, and I also think the team would be MUCH better off keeping 6 corners and 4 safeties than 5/5

Ramon Humber is our Special Teams Captain...yes he's needed.

Anybody who thinks McCown isnt making this team obviously didn't see any of the OTAs or mini-camp. Grayson would come into the game before Griffin if something severe were to happen. Unless he drastically improves or McCown sucks it up in camp, Griffin doesn't have a future with the Saints.
McCown stays only because he's the only other QB capable of giving the Saints the best chance to win.

I've been predicting for weeks that Grayson will beat out Griffin easily and next year move into the backup role.
You went out on a limb there

I'd like to see what Dennis Allen can do with SJB before I give up on him

dudes not even the best j morgan on roster.

I have a ban bet with some poster here. I don't think Joe Morgan makes the roster either.
Posted on 7/23/15 at 1:53 pm to jorconalx
love joe morgan but it'll be tough this year, we got a lot of potential with coleman and jones, josh seems to have gotten off to a great start and way more stable/dependable.
Posted on 7/23/15 at 1:54 pm to Chad504boy
Is SJB eligible for the practice squad?

So Triplett is making a projection based on what? The team has not even gone to training camp. Waste of space.
