Loomis deserves a lot of blame but he isn't acting alone on these moves.

That guy parlayed two epicly bad NFL drafts into a SECOND GM gig for another professional franchise. The answer to your question is never.

As much as a lot of this shite should fall on Loomis, blaming him for bringing in players/draft picks that don't pan out is completely off the mark. Before Ireland came here, Payton & the Head of Scouting (have had several in SP's tenure) made all of the decisions. All ML did was get the contract to work.

Now all personnel decisions fall on Ireland & SP, ML just makes the numbers work. ML's failures come in when we can't get a contract to work (Norman) or extensions & renewals drag on forever (Brees).

Fwiw, Loomis doesn't choose the players. Payton, Carmichael and I guess Allen do now. Vitt probably plays a role as well but Loomis just works the money.

Loomis doesn't pick the players, he's just the contract and money guy.

Yeah I mean we only won the fricking Super Bowl and had the most successful run in franchise history.

What a horrible time to be a Saints fan that was.

Why do people ignore the reality that Payton is making these decisions? Is it denial?

Still laughing at you a coach of the year, hall of fame made all time QB, Super Bowl and playoff appearance teams later. What a fricking joke if you think yoy are victor to that ignorant thinking.
