I could make a list of reasons why, but we all know them. Any naysayers? If so please explain why. He has ruined our franchise for the foreseeable future.

No, we should not.

Why? Because Loomis was the GM when we won the superbowl, too. I trust him.

Loomis is nothing more than a management guy. He is not making personnel decisions.

What does he manage then if he's not making personnel decisions? The contracts? We have more dead money than the fricking zombies in the Walking Dead.

This is false

Just need another draft like this years along with hiring actual position coaches and they'll be fine.

If you're billed as a "cap genius," and your team is in cap hell...

And if he's not making personnel decisions then why is he the GM?

Good thing we've been known to draft well.

Drew Brees has a 32 million cap hit next year.

This is not an uncommon thing. How many accountants do you know that are also brilliant talent evaluators? Many orgs choose to leave personnel decisions in the hands of the pro and college scouting departments as well as the coach, and leave the rest of the actual management of the organization to the GM.

They revamped the scouting department and had a solid 1st draft under the new guys.

And he is very good at manipulating that, we signed a 60 million dollar safety last year. Regardless of whether or not that worked (again, personnel decision), he still made it work.

I would rather use all of our space trying to squeeze as much talent onto the roster as possible than be sitting around with 80 million in cap room in March and can't even get middling guys to sign. No thanks.

That still does not excuse the contracts of graham galette and browner.

which other GMs are like this? im dying to know.

If Loomis was fired tonight I dont think he'd ever be a GM of another team, ever.

I think you have it mixed up. Im pretty sure most teams have cap specialists, but they aren't the fricking GM.

Loomis essentially went "all in" in terms of winning now last year and this season.

It has completely backfired.

The other aspect of having a good gm is getting another solid football mind in the building. Someone that can actually say "hey guys Brandon browner really sucks cock, we shouldn't sign him"

He's fine where he is

If you HAVE to get a new GM,move loomis upstairs and get an up and comer and keep Ireland in his scouting role.
