He could be good...just my opinion. I have a lot of bias that an lsu freshman corner made his arse quit by being physical with him at the line of scrimmage

Well that's much different than not being a good route runner. Potential bust because he's soft.

Not sure I agree but we'll see. I sure hope he is but I have my doubts.

Evans won't be able to do in the NFL what he did in college. Intimidate corners with his physical play. They will knock his arse silly in the NFL the minute he starts some shite. but him and Benjamin are NFL ready because of their physical styles.

This fits very appropriately here.

Just saw this one and wow oh wow:

Benjamin will make Carolina forget Smith

This guy eats up everything Rivera and the GM tell him. He went from acting like the sky was falling, to listening to some seriously flawed logic about what a #1 WR is and if teams really need one, to buying into the bs that Underwood will be better than Ginn was last year.

And now this?

I think we got the next Steve Smith, not Carolina. KB won't make anyone forget Steve Smith. In fact, I think he will make people more pissed off that they got rid of him.

Gonna be like Mike Williams from USC. Great talent with height, but not a polished WR and weight will fluctuate. Not sure he can consistently keep his weight down. If he can stay in the 230s he will be a player. But weight is an issue with him. But the pick was a no brainer for Carolina IMO.

Evans is going to be a damn good NFL WR.

Not to be a post snob, but why do guys with less than 200 posts seem to usually be friggin idiots? Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin, 2 instant HOFs and one arguably a GOAT don't know what they hell they are talking about!? Bokay bromo. They've been studying film for 20 years, but you play Madden like all the time. Got ya.

I think KB will be very Jimmy Graham like and score plenty on us the next 5-6 years.

I would be shocked if Evans turned out to be a bust.

Then again, if the refs flag him for his physicality, he could be hamstrung.

After I read the first sentence, I was going to write "do they call offensive pass interference in the NFL?" And then you answered it for me--sort of.

He's a steal because he fell to them and they didn't have to trade up. He's not wrong.

Don't see how people think Evans will be a bust. I think he'll end up being better than Sammy Watkins. He may not be the most physical WR right now, but he came out early as a sophomore and will only grow physically from here. Not to mention he's going to be mentored by one of the most physical WR's currently in the league in V-Jax. Benjamin being a bust, possibly; but to say Evans will be a bust is just a stupid statement. IMO.

And to say we're the only team in the South that got a good WR is just "homer-ism" at it's best.

I'll just leave this here.

quote:

Carolina Panthers: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State: C- Grade
Ugh, over Marqise Lee and the other tackles? One trusted source we spoke to had Kelvin Benjamin slotted as a mid-round pick. He said that Benjamin couldn't run, and that he was very inconsistent with dropped passes. Lee probably would have been the better option, but at least Carolina is filling a huge need. The team almost had to pick a wideout or a left tackle with the 28th pick.

That is a good comparison IMO. He is a boom or bust type.

So, every team that stayed in their original drafting position got a steal?

Fell?

This guy at BEST was going to be a very late first round pick so that's far from a steal in that sense.

Fwiw, I think the Bengals got the steal of the draft in the first.

I'm with you on that(not that I think either will be all pro), I just would hate to be right about it.

Also, I don't think we got the only good WR in the South, but I think he will end up being the best.

Actually, no he didn't. I was watching. He clearly said the steal of the draft was Kevin Benjamin.
