Only a 3rd to move back that far would be a bit of a fail.

I would guess 2nd and 3rd to move to #32.

Well yeah the 2nd is a given. I would want more than a 3rd to move back that far.

They might use 2 of those 3rds to get a extra 2nd round pick. This draft is going to have a few trades and I'm sure the Saints will get alot of calls at #11 and #32 spot.

I like Harris, but not at that spot. Think he is a mid-20s type player. Still like it better than Barnett, who honestly should be an early 2nd-mid 2nd type guy.

Williams is the same, if not a better player that can be had at 42 though..if you don't mind your pass rusher having smoked a little weed in his day..which if we're being honest I'm sure harris has too

For someone knocking Barnett for athleticism, Harris has EXTREMELY similar numbers, but a much worse 3 cone. Harris had a better 40 by .06, but Barnett had a better broad by 8 inches.

And Barnett blows him away in production. And is heavier.

I've actually read a lot of insider stuff that says Reddick and Harris could easily be top 15 picks and the Jets are in love with Harris.

What don't you like about Barnett?

Seems like a safe pick to me

Harris came back strong at his pro day

37.5" vert
9'10" broad
7.05 3 Cone

Which match the explosion off the ball that you see on tape

That being said I never said I favored one or the other.

It's trendy to hate a guy with high production but a "bad" 40?

Seriously if people dislike Barnett but like Harris I really don't know what to say. The one thing Harris has on him is more polished moves and he can drop into zones more.

Barnett still had a better 3 cone and broad. That vert is 6.5" better than his though.

But if you call one athletic and the other not you are fricking insane (not you personally Les; anyone who does).

I do like Harris' potential as someone who can play more zone coverage and help disguise things, but he hasn't proven he is the better rusher, and he damn sure isn't as good against the run.

For me it has nothing to do with his 40. I questioned his athleticism long before the underwear olympics because it shows just by watching the guy. He won in college with a good motor and by guessing snap counts. He has absolutely zero traits that stand out above the rest. He is a well below average athlete (27th percentile among edge players in this draft class - LINK) and I just don't see what he has translating to long-term success in the NFL. He is going to be outclassed athletically by every tackle he faces from here on out. Every single one.

I think his motor and bend/hands (which are good but overrated on this board) will get him some early sacks. But he will never be more than a 4-6 sack player and I just can't justify taking a player with such a low ceiling in the top 15. If you think that he will get more sacks than that, the only argument is that Jordan, Fairley and Rankins will create opportunities for him - which is also true for anyone else we take that actually has superstar capabilities.

JMO. I'd love for us to pick the guy and me be wrong, I'll eat fricking crow I promise, but personally I just don't see it.

ETA: Just so we get it out of the way, I understand he has a good 3 cone. I understand the 40 has little to do with pass rushing. I think his lack of explosion shows on tape but the numbers help solidify the case.

If we could trade back to like 17 I'd be cool with taking him.

Have you not realized that these online guys have no clue who these teams are actually interested in. That's why every year people flip out when _____'s best available is in the board for a round plus later than he has them listed for.

Mayock has been one of the most accurate mockers, too. He's actually in tune to team needs

I mean if anyone in the media has any clue what they're talking about it's definitely Mike Mayock

I doubt we take Harris at 11, but the guy definitely knows player eval
