re: Mark Ingram averaged 5.1 YPC last season, am I missing something?

It's because we traded back into the first round to get Ingram. That was fricking dumb. Ingram is a run of the mill back who could be replaced by one of our several UDFA.

Except he hasn't and they haven't gotten near the YPC average he has while running behind the same line.

Hey Melvin.
How's it hanging?

Right
Ingram career YPC is 4.4
Pierre career YPC is 4.6
Ivory career YPC is 4.5
Two are UDFA and One is a 1st Round pick. Man I hate fricking stats.

So you say he can be replaced by several of our UDFA then proceed to link the career stats of two players that haven't worn a Saints uniform in years?
Hey while we are at it go ahead and post Deuce's career stats just for fun.
ETA: I did the work for you. Why did we draft that bum in the first round? He only averaged 4.3 ypc in his career. Talk about a waste.
Now, you see how fricking stupid you sound?

OMG, is ingram your mom? My post wasn't even bashing, just a pretty fair and reasonable critique and possible reason for bringing in AP.
But sorry, he is flawless. Best ever at everything.

How's that his fault? You should be hating on the front office instead. The way some of you hate on him all the time makes it seem like he personally did something to greatly offend you. He's not a run of the mill RB, he's an above average RB but nothing more than that.

He is saying because we traded back into the 1st round to get Ingram....Payton keeps finding a way to get him the ball to justify his pick.
The stats show that within the Saints offense over the year several RBs have had successful numbers. True is that a RB in this offense is going to be used less. maybe that leaves them fresher, but more important they see fewer guys in the box and more nickel and dime coverage on the field.

Believe it has much less to do with his playing at Alabama than it does that we traded up for a Heisman running back that had a really slow start to his career. Many thought he played lazy the first few years and that pissed them off. Combine it with several injuries and the expectation s for a Heisman winning RB were not met.
No one really hated Roman Harper until his play declined. That had nothing to do with Alabama. People seemed to be rooting for Sunseri and he was a Bama guy.

People still think Ingram sucks because of his first two years.
He's put the work in and gotten better. He's not the same player he was as a rookie or second-best player. His last 4 seasons he's averaged over 4 ypc each year, 5.1 last year and is up to 4.4 ypc for his career which includee his first two seasons when he wasn't good.
And I'm as big an LSU fan as anyone and one of my all-time favorite Saints is Roman Harper because of the Steve Smith incident.

the Ingram hate just has more hot sauce on it I guess considering he's from Bama.
A lot of it started when he was towel waving on sidelines on Saturdays while injured.
He's a pretty good back, but nothing special.

Roman Harper didn't play on an Alabama juggernaut. They routinely lost to LSU. Auburn was probably more hated at that point than Alabama for LSU fans.
Ingram was in Sabans first full recruiting class at Alabama. The LSU fan psyche was as volatile as it's ever been in those years. The hatred was spiked because of the fear of imminent takeover. Whether people want to admit it or not, Mark Ingram (2-1) against LSU, played for Alabama during a time when many LSU fans hated Alabama the most. There's acceptance now, for the most part. I don't think many people would be too upset if Jon Allen goes at 11 tonight.

I do believe there are some reasonable Ingram haters that fall in this category. But I still think their numbers are lower than the unreasonable idiots who are looking for any reason to hate on him.
