If you are unhappy with the contract you signed, you should not have agreed to it when you did. Yes, we need to keep Lewis but the contract was agreed by both parties. Be glad you don't play for the jags or bucs.

A lot of people in here don't understand setting a precdent. You do it for him, other players will ask the same.

You're missing the point. He won't do it. Why is he doing this? Money? Security?

If he held out, he'd be losing millions. Not gonna happen.

I'd call his bluff.

I agree. Not good to showcase your every feeling when you are emotional.

This is not the NBA or MLB. There is a hard cap, which every team basically fills every year. Free Agents sign with teams in places that suck way worse than New Orleans.

Show me where teams are just guarenteeing the last 3 years of a contract?

You've seen some renogiating, but on franchise type players. That which he is not.

release him, he is no shut down corner, secondary is still an area of concern and major weakness on the defense and team

He has been when healthy. Owned Jordy Nelson, played pretty well against Dez Bryant. Owned DJax in the playoffs in 2013. Releasing arguably our best (and cheaply paid) defensive player to make a point would be absolutely idiotic. At the very least we could pick up a draft pick for him.

In no way can the saints give into this for Lewis. If they start paying guys that do this it would never stop

It sucks yes, but in no way is a business going to give into this guys demands while he is under contract that he has AGREED TO PLAY FOR

If his contract is so low, we should be able to trade him.

Gimme a deuce and call it a day.

Are you high? We drafted a cb in the second last year, how did that work out? We draft one in the first a few years back, how did that work out? Johnny Patrick? Corey White? No thanks
