This is escalating quickly...

Yeah sure Keenan. Here's a checkbook, you just decide how much $ you want.

Is there anything else we can do for you sir?

I don't think so fool.

If you are going to sit out we'll fine the poo out of you then trade you....to the frickin Jags.

He signed for less and has been a great teammate.

He's completely outplayed his contract.

It isn't a terrible request and understandable.

That IG post is giving me a "pre paid" Jimmy Graham vibe and I don't like it.

Except that Lewis is a good deal better of a player.

This is an awful time for him to do this.

ETA: He's just asking for his final three years finalized, but that money isn't guaranteed right? So that kind of is more money. Or is it? Jesus, I don't know.

I dont give a crap if he outplayed his contract. It's a frickin contract...You know like an agreement between 2 parties.

He has a low salary which means he has trade value.

Don't let the door hit you.

Tell that to the hundreds of players that get cut every season.

What is his gripe? That the Saints will cut him next year because they don't wanna pay the back half of his contract because it's back loaded or whatever? He signed the contract knowing that. That's the business. What leverage does he have? He'll hold out training camp and not get paid anything at all?

Guarantee it. We can't afford to piss off the only good CB we have. He is paid peanuts.

He wants the money he is making over the rest of his contract to be fully guaranteed. He isn't asking for more money. His non-guaranteed cap hits are:
2015: $2.5m
2016: $4.95m
2017: $4.75m

That's an absolute steal for a player as good as he is. We're in a tough spot if he asks for more money, but he claims that he is not. Fully guaranteeing that deal is easily worth the risk that he gets seriously injured. fricking Buster Skrine just signed a $6m/season deal.

I think the Saints will take care of Lewis. Right now there are other things to check off the list that don't include players already under contract.

Those numbers are really low for his production.

BUT, doesnt that seem risky for a guy whose knee swells up like a grapefruit after every game now?

Yall are ridiculous. You're letting the tail wag the dog. He doesn't make that decision. He signed his contract fully aware of what he was agreeing to. If I were Loomis and he threatened to hold out I'd tell him to feel free. I would fine him the maximum amount possible.

We're not redoing your deal because you feel you outplayed it.

If thats the case, we should give our LT more money to since he is making less than 500k. And while we're at it, let's go ahead and give any other players that want it more money or more garunteed $

Sets an awesome precedent.

I think this is more personal with Lewis than money. Payton seems to be losing this locker room. Time will tell for sure, but there's plenty of strife at the moment
