So he rides the bench during almost his entire rookie contract, or we bench Carr when his cap hit is over $50M for a few years?

Neither scenario is very optimal from a decision-making scenario.

One of the greater ironies in Saints history: Sean Payton nabs him and "turns him into a superstar."

Are you Loomis?

Could the Saints develop a player like Jayden Daniels. Really wish we had the foresight to move way up to draft Mahommes

2023
DT from Clemson

2022
WR from Ohio State
OL from Northern Iowa

2021
DE from Houston

2020
OL from Michigan

2019
OL from Texas A&M (second round)

That’s been our first round picks the last 5 years. So besides Penning in 22, this is a bullshite narrative that needs to stop. Y’all just keep regurgitating the same shite over and over, and it’s false

Well I guess Loomis answered Bobby Herbert’s question.

This has the potential to be one of the GREATEST draft day melts from LSU homers since the Joe Burrow draft disrespect by not forcing a Bengals team to trade with the Saints by offering up 7 1st rounders.

I cannot wait for draft day

Why? They don't have enough to go up and get him.

If he drops to the Saints, I’m sure we’ll take an undersized left tackle from St Augustine State that has “tremendous upside” instead.

Completely wrong - this scenario occurs all the time. Youre dumb if you think we pass on one of the top 3 qbs if on drops.

We use the best player available draft strategy for one.

And this scenario occurs often.

Yes dumbass. Yes.

See Jordan Love. You think ARod had a small contract?????? Lol. Jesus, calm your titties Karen.

No it doesn't.

Jordan Love. That's it under the current rookie wage scale era.

If that happens, we were dumb to restructure Carr, is the correct response. That restructure destroys the value of a 1st round QB.

Yes dumbass. Yes.

Then we lose the move EV+ portion of his career. Literally waste it. That's our likely Super Bowl window (if he's legit).

The Packers could absorb the dead cap cutting him. Can we do the same with Carr in 2025? The answer is no.

Its not going to happen. But if the FO and coaches see a game changing, franchise making, future HoF QB drop to them you don't just pass that up. Never. No matter the current state of your Org..

You left out the two first round picks for the oft injured de from the college powerhouse Texas.

Texas San Antonio that is.

I’ll play.

In 2018, used two first round picks on an oft injured de from UTSA, another first round pick on the exact same player from Houston, (which isn’t a power house college) and another one in Penning, who was from a very small school.

So out of the last 6 drafts, 4 first round picks were used on small school or oft injured prospects or both. I’d say the narrative fits….

Not as dumb as thinking one of the top 3 QBs drops. If one drops to 4, good chance someone trades up. By the Saints pick 4 QBs will most likely be gone.

Trying to lump Houston in with the big boys is pretty funny.
