It happens.
Especially after the combine when threads would pop up on every player that had a good time.
But I might bump it soon and update it with some pro day times and what not.

Yeah I had a WR thread showing we didn't have to get one at 13 to get a good one, because there were plenty good ones to be had through out the draft..... LINK

Completely agree And I agreed with you in that thread as well
But it's all about positional depth, value, and what you can get in the later rounds for the draft.
Amari Cooper is the only WR I would be ok with us taking at 13, but he's not gonna be there. And I feel that way because he's exactly the type of WR we need. Solid size and great speed, 1 of the most polished WRs I've seen in college in a long time in terms of football IQ, route running, catching with his hands, etc. If we got him, he would walk in and be a very good NFL WR from day 1 with us and has already been in a pro style system. He's ready to go now and will be a very good player from day 1.
Kevin White had the better combine and physical tools, but was projected as a 4th round pick before the season started. He's had 1 year of great college production, in a very pass happy offense. He's gonna have a learning curve in the NFL in terms of route running, football IQ, and going against NFL CBs. He's going to make plays, that's for sure.
But in our offense with Brees, we need someone that has a high football Iq, knows how to get open and is a precise route runner. And that's Cooper, but he won't be there. And it's not like Coop isn't a freak athlete himself, because he is.
And I'm not against Kevin White at all and would be very intriguing to see what we do if he falls to #13. But I would rather take a great OL prospect(Collins, Scherff, etc), Or 1 of the great Defensive prospects (Beasley, Gregory, Shelton, Waynes, etc) at #13 and then grab a WR at #31 or #44 like a Perriman, Agholar, Strong, Coates, Green, etc. And DGB would be good value here, but do not want him near our locker room
I think you just get better value by passing on a WR at #13 and getting them later.
And 1 thing I'm curious in is the thought of us trading up. There have been those articles about is possibly trading up for Mariota and Cooper and all that. And I hope we don't do that, but the 1 guy I wouldn't mind trading up for is Leonard Williams. And nobody has really talked about that.

We should not trade up for anyone in this draft but Leonard Williams IMO.
We don't have to have a guy like cooper. A guy like Williams is an instant upgrade on the defensive line and would make this defense ready to go. We could pick up a lb later rounds and be set.
One can hope.
But if there is anything we can all count on is there is no doubt that the front office will completely draft someone out of left field we have never discussed or heard of.

Probably could have consolidated it a bit... But it is what it is

I think 3rd round is the best value for WR in this draft. That's why reaching for any WR in the 1st/2nd is a bad idea imo. Sure, if you want the player and the value is right then take him.
