This list only proves that this is not even discussion worthy. Drew is already a first ballot QB...3 more years of play only cements his Top 10 QB status.

So let's go ahead and rank these QB's and where Brees would fall in the list:

Joe Montana
John Elway
Steve Young
Drew Brees
Dan Marino
Brett Favre
Troy Aikmen
Warren Moon
Jim Kelly

Brees gets in easily

Ok I don't think you're trolling but you are overthinking it. Brees will be first ballot. This isn't the Baseball hall of fame where obsessive nerd sports writers can stall a great player's induction. Brees isn't going to face a lot of competition, as has been said. So yea I disagree with you but acknowledge your opinion.

Cappervin and the rest of that crowd can go frick themselves though.

Are you seriously predicting not only when Brees will retire but who else will retire in that same year?

Of fricking course he is. He's one of the best ever. There is absolutely no doubt he is first ballot.

Dude listed Devin Hester as competition... The best return guy ever isn't even on par with an arguably top 5 qb of all time.

Larry Fitz is going to finish his career as 2nd only to rice in receiving yards and receptions, barring serious injury. He could be first ballot

Jason Wittenis going to have some lofty numbers when he's does too. Doubt he catches Gonzalez but he's already top 10 in receptions for ALL players. Idk how much longer he has in him but he could inch towards first ballot if he plays late into his 30s like TG

Dude. You're wrong. It isn't even a question.

Yes he will go in on the 1st ballot. Take it to an NFL board or the MSB. ANyone that isn't trolling will say yes, 100%.

Trust me, I want him to be! I love the Saints and what he has done since he's gotten here with Payton, but I'm also not being blind to the multiple subpar seasons as a team he has played on. I believe that if Sean Payton doesn't get suspended, they go on a roll of good playoff runs.

I did some research as well. Under Payton, and while Brees has been here...there has only been one 1,000 yard rusher (Deuce in 2006 - 1st year the two were here, and Deuce only had 57 yards over 1K). With that being said it shows the "system" and the inflation of stats Brees has had due to no running game while in NOLA. Plenty of checkdowns, screens, and swing passes. He has benefited tremendously from it, and I'm not trying to take it away from him, but if you look at the 90's QBs and older they had good RBs on their team, whereas the Saints have not in this era.

Shows how valuable Brees is to the Saints organization, but also at the same time if you look at McCown going for 300 yds+ against the best defense in the league last year you come to wonder...could any QB under Payton throw for these many yards?

Oh so you weren't trolling for upvotes in the OP? You just really are retarded?

Regardless of any "system" arguments, no system QB has done what he has done. He has 4 5000 yard seasons. No other QB in history has more than 1.

Think about that.

He will finish in the Top 5 in all passing categories, and will probably finish #1 in passing yards. At worst #2, but I think he will get into that 1 spot.

Do you think a QB that is the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards is not going to be first ballot?

What crack are you smoking? Send some my way.

Yes...

Just use the case of Dan Marino being a first ballad Hall Of Famer with out a super bowl win.

Brees has beating most of Marino's hold passing records and has a Super Bowl win under his belt.

So doesn't that make his records for completion % even more impressive?

quote:

Plenty of checkdowns, screens, and swing passes.

He's had several seasons where he led the NFL in deep passing. Hell, he even threw the most accurate deep ball last year statistically when he had an injured season where he led the NFL in yards despite missing a game.

but also at the same time if you look at McCown going for 300 yds+ against the best defense in the league last year

the Broncos? shite, how good must Flynn be after he showed up Aaron Rodgers? How about when Cassell did it for a season?

You're an idiot.
