Since you like to throw stones, which poster has never said something negative about Brees?

Can you name even one?

Pretty much every MVP watch has Manning at first, including NFL.com and ESPN

who's throwing stones?
I said during and after the hold out that he would never perform to the level that he did from 09-11.
Aside from the circus that is this season, he is obviously struggling.
With rare exception, the jillion dollar contracts just seem to do that.

Right now he's not having a top 3 season but he is still elite. The guy is a future HoFer.

With what, 7 coming in 2 games? He's still had a good season. It's not quite on par with most other seasons he's had under the saints, but he's still an elite qb.

People keep saying this, but it isn't true for NFL qbs

Brady, eli, Peyton, big Ben have all elevated their game after receiving monster contracts

You started a thread once saying Colston was a "flash in the pan" [link=(www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/display.aspx?sp=28235736&s=2&p=28235736#28235736)]LINK[/link]

You obviously have issues with the Saints so GFY

Get out of here with that nonsense. Plenty of players live up to their new big contracts

Suuuure you did. Now you're just reaching to try and justify your overreaction.

Even so, it doesn't take a genius to say that Drew cant out perform one of the greatest 3 year stretches he had as a QB in NFL history.

I dont understand why i keep having to post this:

Most Passing TDs in the NFL
Most Passing yars in the NFL
Most Attempts in the NFL
Most INT's in the NFL
2nd most completions
2nd most Yrds per game
12th in QB rating
Broke an amazing QB record that many thought would never be broken, not to mention the countless other QB records he owns.

Yes he is elite. And yes he can be elite if he throws a bunch of pics. We basically had no run game the first 5 games he was throwing the ball like 50 times a game. Last game he had 5. That was a terrible game. No one is denying that. But to say he is having a sub par season or isnt elite anymore is just plain idiotic.

Good point and i totally agree. It would be very hard to continue performing better than basically any quarterback ever has in NFL history. Solid post.

most of those are basic counting stats. His efficiency is way down this year.

Yes it is. He went from out performing every quarterback ever to being just an elite player. Shell of himself.

I know you love Brees (probably even more than I love Idris Elba, which is a lot), but that's just clown talk bro. We did this thread on the MSB several months ago. Brady and Manning have both had better single seasons and 5 year stretches, although Brees is right there with them

Statistically speaking, no one in NFL history has ever:
been more accurate in season,
had more yards in a season,
had more 5000yrd passing seasons,
had more completions in a season,
had more consecutive 400+completion seasons,
had more consecutive seasons with over 4000yrds and over 30 tds,
had more games with over 5 passind tds,
had more games with more than 5tds and no ints,
had a better career completion percentage,
had more seasons with 70% completion rate,
had more games with more than 80% pass completion rate and no interceptions in a career,
had more games with 250+ yards passing in a season,
had more consecutive 400+ yard passing games
had more games with 350+ yards passingin a career or season

He also has both the highest post season completion percentage and lowest post season interception percentage in a career, highest passing yard per game in the post season in a career, most passing yards and attempts without an interception in a playoff game, most consecutive pass attempts without an interception during the playoffs

He was the first NFL QB ever to have multiple 5000 yrd seasons, multiple seasons over 70%, and is the only one to do either

Almost all of those between 2009-2011. And he led the NFL in touchdown passes in 09 and 11 and passer rating in 09.

Oh and he has a longer consecutive TD streak than anyone ever.

Im not saying Brady and Manning arent great, but to laugh at the thought of Drew being at least equal to them is asinine in my opinion.
