as for ingram - i hope the guy produces i really do. i think this year will really be his chance. if he doesn't, i don't foresee keeping him around.

How is it Ingram's fault where he was drafted?
He had no control over this.

You can blame Payton

Now it's accurate. Payton picks the players, Mickey just gets them signed. Payton feel in love with the guy but didn't fully consider that Bama's line(and the blatant holding they get away with) had a great deal to do with their backs' success.

we spent a second round on him dipshit.

Is he worth a 1st and 2nd round pick? He hasn't produced with a great supporting cast around. How well would he do on a shitty team

For comparison, Pierre Thomas was 36th in the league with 12.38% being his number.

This is a direct result of being one of the best RBs in the NFL at catching the ball out of the backfield. Pierre's flexibility which keeps defenses on their heels is the same reason why we can't throw the ball 70% of the time and hope to be a dominant team. Offensive balance equates to success both for individuals as well as teams.

Poor argument. Works better for a QB.

He really hasn't impressed me. One can only blame the "system" for so long. Eventually a player has to break out

None at all buddy. I hate LSU more than Bama. But everytime I did watch a college game or highlight of a Bama run or of a lineman there was blatant holding. It was fricking ridiculous. Not that I care who won or lost but it's shitty that refs let that stuff fly.

He's not a very good receiver out of the backfield and he's subpar in pass protection so they knew to stack the box when he was in because he's not an option in the passing gam
Freakin THIS!
Maybe if he worked on his weaknesses instead of hanging out on a College sideline during his off time, things would change.
Doubt he does this, as, in his words from Twitter when criticized, " At least I'm makin that paper."

when ingram was in, didn't brees have his highest QB rating for play action pass compared to PT, sproles, or ivory? I remember this tidbit from back during the season

The Ingram hate undoubtedly comes from LSU butthurt. I have mad respect for the ones that are able to realize that Ingram's stats have a lot to do with the system/playcalling.

I don't think so. I think it's because people saw flashes when others got carries, as opposed to Ingram's infamous 2 yard hiccups. I'm an LSU fan, and I'm happy we have Ingram. We need to feed him the rock more before we expect him to be more effective.

One of the best offensive teams in NFL. Had the 6th ranked rushing offense during the super bowl run. Yeah the system doesn't know jack shite about how to use Ingram. It's all the systems fault and none on Ingram. Most underrated runningback of all time. No clue how Chris Ivory could produce under this system. So far Mark Ingram has matched the production of Mike Bell.

Thanks to Carmichael, right?

Your argument would be better if 2012 didn't happen.

No thanks to Kromer.

Plenty of factors for 2012. Your argument makes no sense since Kromer was on the team since 2008 and he's one of the best O line coaches/running game coordinators in the NFL.
