I agree. But while hard it's not impossible so I'll take the wait and see approach with him. Even still, he wouldn't be the best LB in the whole league with another year like that. Top 5 sure but there are a few guys that are more consistent and/or just have "it".

ILB is our biggest need, but it isn't that important of a position (ours sucked last season, yet we were still a top 5 defense).
Watt is the best non-QB in the NFL, but our DL is already stacked. We'd still find a way to use him, though.
Sherman, Revis, or Peterson would push Lewis onto the second best WR and give us an insanely good secondary, but do you really need two Pro Bowl caliber CBs? Only a handful of teams have really scary #2 WRs.
Calvin Johnson would push a solid player like Colston or Stills to the bench, but opposing defenses would be fricked. You can't double both CJ and Graham, and Cooks/Stills/Colston are good enough to take advantage. I'd go with him.

ILB ... isn't that important of a position
Our pass rush was plenty fine, and I think adding Watt would only have a marginal increase. You wouldn't sit your run stuffing DT/NT for him(occasionally maybe), so you would have to sit Galette, Jordan, or Hicks.
I think a top shelf corner could have a pretty big impact but passes are going to get completed somewhere, especially with the new rules emphasis.
CJ is tempting, but again I think it's similar to adding to our Dline in that the increase would be marginalized(though not to the same extent).
That's why I would have to go HB with Peterson or McCoy because they would be a pretty big upgrade(and I'm high on Robinson, but he's no Peterson).

Patrick Willis or Luke Kuechly

I think that Vaccaro's versatility and talent limit the importance of our ILBs even more so than most other teams.
And while I would LOVE watching AP or Shady on our offense, all you have to do is look at the draft to see the declining value of RBs.
You've had a few posts recently talking about how it's becoming even more of a passing league than ever. Since the potential improvement at QB is so marginal and the league, IMO, lacks any clear cut HoF caliber LTs, why not go for a guy that will likely go down as a top 5 all time WR? It's a really tough call, though. I started to type about how CJ would have a huge impact on the run game, but Peterson or Shady would have a similar effect on the passing game. My uncertainty almost makes me want to say "Don't overthink it, just go with the best", which would have to be Watt. I really think that he and Jordan can play any position along the DL outside of the 0 or 1 technique. Since we go 4 DL most of the time, Junior at RDE, either Watt or Jordan at LDE and the other at the 3 tech would be beastly. Let Hicks/Bunkley/Jenkins mix it up at the 1 tech. You could roll with Watt and Jordan at DE and one of those other guys at the nose in the 3 DL alignments.

Another thing to think about (though I really only care about wins, not opinion) is that CJ, AP, or Shady definitely puts us in the GOAT offense discussion. Add Keuchly or Watt, and we're still not the 85 Bears/early 00's Ravens unless KV, Jordan, and Hicks make a substantial combined improvement + we get good CB2 play.

one player its CJ. this team was and will be known as a passing offense/team as long as Brees is here.
Put in CJ, you can't triple team him like you would in Detroit. Double team him, that leaves Graham available. Double team them both, cooks and colston will destroy you.

I wish their was a GIF of those plays available (we did it at least twice).

The answer is... Sebastian Janikowski!

I kind of disagree. Cam Jordon is great, but he's not quite to that superstar level yet. I think that's what this defense is missing. I'm hoping Byrd and/or Jordan become that disruptive force teams have to worry about. But a superstar defensive player changes the dynamic of the defense.
Kind of like the defensive version of Reggie Bush, Sproles or hopefully Cooks.

Calvin Johnson, and nobody else should even come close. Adding Megatron would be equivalent to when the Patriots added Randy Moss. 13-3 with Calvin Johnson on this current roster would be underachieving! Brees and Megatron would seriously threaten the single season TD QB/WR combo record, as well as the single season Rec-TD and Pass-TD records. I'm seriously thinking of buying the new Madden now just to see it.

This is the correct answer. LB is the Saints' potential Achilles heel.

Willis is possibly the best LB in the NFL but Kuechly is putting up Willis' stats with only 2 years under his belt. Gotta go with youth here.

IMO, you have to take a player that can not only help you, but also hurt the other teams who have a chance of knocking you out of the playoffs. So, which guy could we take that would help end Seattle's season? If not Seattle, which guy would ruin SF?

We don't need a running back. Mark Ingram has been injured from day one. Comeback player of the year.

If you're going linebacker, I agree with all this.
