If the Saints can't win in Carolina, do you want them in the playoffs?

I remember saying to my friend (who's a Cowboys fan) that if I were him, I wouldn't even want the Cowboys in the playoffs because I'd just get embarrassed.

This was Saturday, before the embarrassment that was Sunday.

I'm not done with the season. As much as I hate losing, if the team fixes issues from it (real long term change), then it helps sooth the pain.

If we can't nut up and win this coming Sunday in the biggest game of the year to date, then I really don't want them in the playoffs, because if this past Sunday didn't wake them up, then we're just going to get embarrassed on the road in the playoffs.

Does this team even remotely remind you of some scrappy wild card team?

If you say so, but all I know is if they can't win this Sunday on the road, then I'm not looking forward to the playoffs at all. I'll watch, of course, but I'm not looking forward to it.

I'm kind of in agreement here. I was in denial after the Seahawks game pointing to all the crazy plays they made and the fact that no one wins there as reasons why I thought we could still be successful. Then we blow out Carolina and I'm pumped.

But to go on the road and play the way we did, against a team like that. Man you can pump all the sunshine if you want, but f you can't beat a Kellen Clemens led 5-8 Rams team on the road, what makes you think you can beat anyone in the playoffs on the road?

We just look like a completely mentally weak team. We can't bounce back from adversity and we fold under pressure. This week is basically nut up or shut up and Payton might have to do his best coaching job since he's been here this week. It all comes down to this, either 2 seed..or one and done.

I get what you're saying, but I would take limping into the playoffs every year over not making it. This team is capable of getting hot in a short amount of time and is capable of winning it all even in the event of a collapse at the end of the season. Were you saying the same thing in '09? I know I know, apples and oranges.

This season is really like none I've watched before. I've just never seen such a disparity between home and away, and we've become progressively worse since the Patriots loss.

I thought better of you Patrick

Yes, of course I want the Saints in the playoffs, no matter what. Any given Sunday and all that.

Records don't matter once we get to the playoffs. It's all about getting hot at the right time.

Complete apples and oranges considering we won 13 in a row. Our losses only coming to a Cowboys team that was a very close game, a Bucs team that usually plays us close at home, and then when we rested starters at Carolina.

Not getting completely arse waxed by a terrible Rams team.

But hey, the Ravens lost 4/5 games to end the regular season last year. I think if we can somehow pull this win off and get the bye, I'll have some more realistic hope. But if we lose as end up wild carding it, I'm literally not expecting a single win in the playoffs. If we do, that'd be fricking awesome, but doubtful.

Ravens lost 4 of 5 to end the season last year, and were 4-4 on the road. Granted they still won their division and played at home on wildcard weekend.

Except it wouldn't follow that the Saints would suddenly get hot now. The WC teams that have done that and reached the super bowl had already started their ascent at this point in the year. The Saints are regressing terribly on the road, and if they don't win in Carolina, it's one and done as a WC.

It will be a choke job if we don't win the division.

If they show me Sunday, I'm all in. They have to show me. They've yet to do that. If they play like crap Sunday, what am I suppose to think? Cliches like "any given Sunday" or "getting hot at the right time" don't mean a damn thing to me when all I've seen this year is that this team plays like crap on the road.

They also had some major upheaval, firing their offensive coordinator and rearranging their o-line. They defied some odds last year.

Although I agree we will be a long shot to win any road playoff game, especially given our likely opponents in such a scenario, I would still relish the opportunity to watch them try.

Seriously, what kind of Saints fan is so spoiled that they would rather miss the playoffs than take a wild card?

Maybe we'll see something similar from Sean today. I think a message needs to be sent. Someway, somehow.
