But I believe that we had more pressing needs. I think G was a MUCH more pressing need. Hopefully there are some great value picks available in the later rounds. I really wanted Whitehair if the selection had to be on the offensive side.

Regardless of which is more pressing, WR is more valued than G.

That means we can get a very good guard in later rounds.

Guard was a bigger need but the difference in talent level is greater for wrs in the later rounds than it is for guards. We can still get a potential starting guard later but Thomas was a fringe first round talent that wouldn't have been there later on.

Tbh I think wr was a pretty pressing need. Especially a guy with height because cooks and Snead are like 5'9. We have very very little talent at that spot

Saints have traditionally done well with OL in the mid rounds

Nicks
Jahri
Bushrod

It's coming

Defense is awful, but getting drew another target was pretty pressing as well.

It's all about how their board is. Thomas likely had a much higher grade than anyone available, otherwise we'd pick someone in a higher area of need.

I know it's frustrating, but this is how good teams get good, and we got away from that.

I definitely like the fact that they went BPA when thinking logically lol. But that defense is HISTORICALLY bad. And the passing offense was still top 10. I am a fan of Thomas' abilitiy to high point the football. It's just hard to stomach when we have SO MANY defensive needs

Yeah but the run on defensive players before that pick meant the value on defense wasn't there. We would have been reaching with just about any defensive player there.

Michael Thomas is a nice value in the 2nd. Will play for a long time in the NFL. Will be a great WR1.

Love the pick, Cooks suddenly got a lot better.

Thomas- Cooks-Snead-Fleener + a healthy Spiller looks pretty good. All finnesse players, not so good. In all they finally got Drew that WR we've been waiting years for.

Like his size and speed combo, am anxious to see how these last few Brees years goes now with all this young talent. If rankins isnt an all pro I see him as a guy who can still provide some disruption on pass downs, not even expecting a good player Im not even gonna get my hopes too high. Would be awesome if he panned out he looks like a smaller Kawan Short and I like that he can disengage with ease. Guy can move like a safety also, I am satisfied with that pick he just needs to get off the ball a little quicker.

The safety I know absolutkey nothing about but he sounds good and its a great value with Vaccaro's deal set to expire. You keep him or Byrd but I think this guy starts by year 2.

That's when smart front offices trade back.

You and this trade back bullshite.

You can't trade back at will (it takes two), and it isn't like the value would have been better trading back. The defenders don't magically move up our board by doing that.

Yeah that run was hard to watch. But I guess the value to move up there wasn't worth it.

And it isn't like we don't have options.

I much prefer Kikaha playing DE and Jenkins playing DT than Coleman playing WR.

Seriously...our receiving core is actually deadly now. We've always been an offensive team and this guy sures up the offense. I think next year we are the best offense in the league. And not the bullshite ranking we had last year. I'm talking dominant
