Who said they're protesting the federal government in particular? And even if they were the federal government is made up of representatives and senators from. These. United. States.
Not to mention LAW enforcement enforce the LAW that the LAW makers write and pass.

Agreed. I didn't see Obama or Newt shoot anyone in the street. Judjeing by the protestors demeanor, I believe this is aimed more at the obvious systemic racistm our human traits have played in local law enforcement.

I have no emotional attachment to the flag. (strange only because of the coming statement) I realize many do, and if this protest consisted of dragging, stepping, or burning the flag, I wouldn't be a fan because they would be intentionally trying to hurt and disrespect people.
Ya usually get run over in the middle.

Are you arguing that the National Anthem and the flag is not a symbol of the federal government?

You've made no point here.

They are protesting the governmental entity whose constitution guarantees them the equality they want when a separate entity is apparently preventing them achieving that equality. People died in war to guarantee and preserve those rights. What federal government action are they requesting to resolve their issues?

Colin Kapernick, a black multimillionaire belonging to one of the most exclusive and well paying professions on Earth in a country that provides food, education, shelter, phones, spending money, and a job to every poor person who asks for it, as well as federally mandating that if your skin color is black you get positive preferential treatment and protection, a country where we have a month dedicated specifically to black history and a national holiday for Martin Luther King, said he cannot support or respect America because it's a country that keeps black people down.
I would say he has down syndrome. But that's an insult to those with down syndrome.

Colon is so brave to come out and protest after being benched. His life of being alone and afraid on the bench is a inspiration. Forced to dwell in the cold or without food and friends on the bench has shocked a nation. Without Colon being benched we might have never known of the injustices being done right now all across this great land.
Let us all, everyone of us, be benched and out of work making seven figures so we too may be inspired to look about and say"hey...what are you doing there?"
Colon is showing this country the stink he has discovered and someone should bless him for that. Maybe his mom or someone like that.

To Original Poster,
You call yourself a veteran and you applaud what these protestors are doing. You are full of shite. I'm a veteran of 24 years, in and out of combat and it pisses me off what they are doing.

Listen to all you simpletons....yikes. Players have said they mean no disrespect to the military and have even modified their way of doing it to be more respectful to veterans (holding up your hand, locking arms, Saints/Falcons). A bunch of 25 years olds kneeling during the national anthem AT A FOOTBALL GAME doesn't do anything to stain what our soldiers and veterans have done for our great country. If this really pisses you off maybe you should take up exercise or painting. They can be very therapeutic. The media is great at firing up stupid people, don't be one of those stupid people. They are just kids exercising their basic constitutional rights. It's a beautiful thing that we can do anything we want on any given day as long as it's within the law.
