I think the lesson to learn here is that they are all human being and go through different moods and stuff. They aren't going to respond the exact same every time anyone comes up to them.

Harper is a nice guy. Look, I hate that guy on the field, but he's a super nice, unassuming guy off of it.
Like someone mentioned earlier, it could've been the crowd, atmosphere or a number of other reasons. The first time he was pretty stand offish. The second time I ran into him he was a lot friendlier. I thought Cam was just a lot more easy going.
I'm sure there have been times where Drew, who many say is as nice of a dude as it gets, has bad moods around crowds also.

At the first preseason game last year or the year before, I was sitting in the front row way down at the bottom on field level and Tracy Porter was warming up. He caught a pass in one of his drills and ran all the way to the back of the endzone right at me. I reached over the rail and he gave me five.
The very first play of the game, Tracy Porter injured his neck.

Drew and my wife have a mutual friend. I have met him several times, was even invited to a small party at his home(the old one). He's about as normal as one can get, rarely talks about NFL football, lots of talk about kids. At times, his wife can be a little high maintenance and snobby but its not too bad.

How did your friend get started with the Saints? I've always wondered this. I'm in the finance industry and it would be great to work for the Saints. Do you have to intern with them first? Do they only hire people with Master degrees? Can you still get hired on with a BS degree? Very curious if any of you guys know?

Off topic but not the first ITT. I met Pierre when he was a rookie at a Saints meet and greet thing at the training facility. This was after one of the preseason games where he looked really good.
I didn't try to hit the guy up with a big conversation, but I said something to the effect of "hey man I thought you looked great against X team and I hope you get lots of playtime in the regular season." He was like weirdly dickish and dismissive, but to be fair this was like at the end of what I'm sure was a long arse day dealing with fans.
Also, I shook Brees' hand once. CSB.

I've met Drew a couple times, and have had some extended interaction with him through work. In a public setting, he's a very nice guy to anyone who approaches him, but privately (and I don't mean this as being negative) he is a little stand-offish. Really good guy overall though.

I met Drew, Chase Daniels and Sean Canfield at Zea's in Harahan

I met him on my ship when I was in the Navy. Him Billy Miller, and Donnie Edwards. He wasn't as big as I thought he was, but I guess no one is because I'm 6'5" lol. There was a qb competition on the ship and everyone was in the hanger bay lined up for about 45 yards and maybe 6 foot apart from each other creating a narrow line of sight for Drew and we just watched him cream these dummies they had setup for him to hit with the football. Very impressive. He signed autographs and took pictures in the Mediterranean Sea heat (119 degrees) for about 5 hours. This was also right after we won the super bowl and my wife had just sent me the magazine of him holding his boy up and the super bowl t-shirt. so he signed both of them for me. So did Billy Miller. Great representative for NOLA and the saints organization. Hope he retires for us sometime down the road.

Met him after one of his book signings a few years back, slipped him "the grip" (same fraternity as him) and talked to him for a second. Was a real cool guy.

He worked for LSU and was like Miles' right hand man from what I have understood.

That's what I was about to post. I think people tend to forget that they are pretty much like you and I. Just so happen the play ball in front of cameras and make alot more money than I do.
Can you imagine having to deal with so many people every single day you're out and about? I would get tired of it also.
Hence, me having a hard time seeing "stars" as different people from anyone else. I think most would enjoy just sitting down to BS with someone without them knowing who they were rather than be spotlight famous (a few exceptions, of course)

oh man, how could I forget, met Joe Horn one time. This was after he retired and his time as a Falcon and those times he had some shite to say about the Saints.
He could not have been a nicer guy. And i told him I didn't like him for what he had said and done. No matter, he was extremely nice and down to earth. He appreciated what I had to say about the Saints winning the Super Bowl (about it belonging to the players before the city. some players are big on that and he is). We talked about jersey sales, autographs and other ways for a former athlete to make money instead of the NFL, autograph hounds or whoever making all of the money.
One of the best conversations I've had with any man over a beer. Solid dude.
