I coulda swo yesterday that the Pats were offering their 32nd for Cooks in addition to a later Saints pick. Could be very wrong, but after hearing the initial rumors of the higher picks from Tenn and Phi, this was about the dumbest offer I'd ever heard

You really think we are getting a 1st PLUS 2 more picks? Lol

dont rule out Dallas sending us #28 and Ronald Leary...they're mocked for a WR in multiple online mock drafts. I have no idea how the contracts look/work if it were to happen but wouldn't surprise me if Jerry is working behind the scenes.

...would kinda mimic the Graham trade, people thinking we get 2 1st rounders from someone for Cooks are way off imo.

I like Cooks and don't think we should trade him...

But if they are set on trading him, do people really think that pick 32 isn't fair value?

Well first of all Leary is a FA. So that's not possible.

Patriots are just doing a the Saints a favor by bumping up the asking price. There isn't any talks here other than that. I know from the source, so yeah

How do y'all feel about Cooks for Garoppolo straight up?

If you don't think Brees will be here more than another year or 2 at most I'd do it in a heartbeat. If Brees is commited to finishing his career here then you either keep cooks to ensure he has a nice compliment of weapons to finish his career or get a nice haul to help other areas and make one last run at it.

Any deal with the pats benefits the pats more than it benefits you.

Its why they are the top FO in the league.

32 is laughable in the extreme.

I value Garoppolo as only a 6-7 round pick value, the man literally only played in what? 3 games? he hasn't even shown himself to be a reliable backup yet much less a starting QB option.

put the alcohol down and go take a nap lol

if the pats want cooks it needs to be mid 1st round pick value or higher so since they only have the very last pick in every round, they better "start" by talking 3 draft picks just to even be serious

do the pats even have any players they might trade that we might want?

pick #32 and throw in a really good established proven young talented player might work

Osweiller only started in 4 more games and got a 72 million dollar deal. The market will determine his worth and it won't be a 6th or 7th round pick.

But I do think the market is ridiculous.

What scares me about this is Sean is flirting with it if it has dragged out this long.

Dragged out this long?

Guess the date that trades can happen?

Let's not act like the 32nd pick isn't greatly disvalued compared to a top 20 pick. If the #18 or better is on the table, it would easily take more

Come on. You have info more on him than any possible draft pick as he has actually gone up against NFL talent.

6th to 7th rounder

So you're saying if new england offered him for just a 5th tomorrow with no strings attached, you wouldn't take it?

Every single team in the Nfl would take that, even Green Bay, Indy, and Seattle

and where is he now, and where is that team that got raped in the deal at now? lol

sure people make stupid deals in the NFL all the time but the discussion going on here is supposed to be about what we should do and what we want to happen, not what idiots should do

Only an idiot would value him as a 6th or 7th rounder

Check that box off

I'm going to go ahead and rule it out since Leary is a FA

Right?

The guy has 2 starts, including @Arizona, and did this:

Completion % - 71.2%
YPA - 8.41
TDs - 4
Ints - 0
Passer Rating - 119

He commands a cap hit of $890k in 2017. So a potential franchise QB who you can judge yourself for a season isn't worth a 5th rounder and ~$350k in cap space according to him...then he called someone else an idiot

And no, he isn't a sure thing. But he is damn sure closer to one than any draft pick
