Stills is a good deep threat that was on a cheap contract.

WTf is Cooks?

He proved if he wasnt catching screen passes or deep balls recently, he pretty much disappeared

These were fun stats on the heels of the Stills trade

quote:

Stills' career 82% catch% on balls thrown to him behind LOS + 0-20 yd range is best in the NFL since at least 2007

Kenny Stills also isn't just a deep threat. Had fourth-highest catch rate (78.8 percent) among WRs last season. Not bad fit for Tannehill.

From the 10 catchable deep (20+ yards in the air) passes thrown to Kenny Stills in 2014 he produced 9 catches for 370 yards with 2TDs

quote:

Cooks is that much better than Stills, really not even a question.

dude. Really? Based on what, now?

Leave out where they were drafted.

But you're spitting out ypc

i dont know how that relates to what you quoted.

When was this? You mean the thing that he said that he says about any player when asked about them being traded? Because he has said the same exact thing before about players that were traded and ones that weren't.

He basically said we still plan on having him and love his skill set, but we are open to offers, which he's said time and again about several players.

A great deep threat with great hands

He works the sidelines extremely well actually.

Their actual production.

I've literally already stated all I need to walk out of this thread.

That Graham would garner more attention from the defense

But anyways, since I posted it late:

quote:

lso consider they were still force feeding Jimmy Graham and Sproles/Pierre when Stills was here. Cooks has a much clearer path to targets in this offense the past two seasons.

Ingram had more catches than PT in 2014
Thomas had more catches than Graham
Snead followed it up with 72 receptions himself
And Fleener with 50.

Graham, Colston, Cooks, and Thomas added up to 242 receptions in 2014.

They had 300 targets go their way

Thomas, Snead, Fleener, and Ingram totaled 260 receptions.

They had 365 targets go their way

In 2014, Cooks had 5.3 receptions/game, Stills had 4.2

Both played on the Saints btw

As for comparable WRs, Kenny Stills netted a 3rd Rder and Ellerbee. Cooks isn't that much better than him.

More like everyone jumped the gun and tried to look for any little thing that said Cooks was evil and needs to be traded at all costs.

If we don't get at bare minimum pick 18 I'll shout how wrong I was, but I don't think we'd even do it for that.

If he's being traded it will be to our benefit. We own his rights for 3 years minimum (more if we tag him twice in a row). He's a very good player that works in our offense.

Only reason to trade him this year is if we get at least a Jimmy type deal.

Jesus H Christ.

Stills has never had a 1000 yard season. Cooks has had back-to-back 1000 yard seasons.

Cooks and Pierre both missed time in 2014, had they not, Stills finishes 5th on the team in targets.

Their actual production isn't comparable when Cooks is seeing 120 targets a year. It's really not that hard bubba.

Dude, surely you remember 2014 when we unsuccessfully forced Cooks and the ball with passes behind the LOS until he got hurt?

I'd take their 1st, 5th and their WR Malcolm Mitchell as a deal for Cooks.

Apparently a lot if a 7 time SB winning coach is willing to part with his 1st round pick for him comparable to what the Saints got for Stills, which is, as you say just a 3rd round pick and Ellerbe.

But you know, feel free to disagree with a guy that knows and sees talent better than all of us but also 90 percent of the league.

Lol. When your catch % goes from 75% to 45%. The difference btw Drew Brees vs Ryan Tannehill

Bill belichik wanting to trade for Cooks doesn't mean Cooks is better than Stills. That is a borderline silly point

I think it's a terrible idea. We need defense now if we ever want to win another ring with Brees.

You're right, it really isn't that hard. There is nothing to suggest that Stills can be a high volume guy.

And somehow Matthews had over a 70% catch % with over 15 ypc in that same offense.

Parker also finished with a much higher catch %

How? So you're saying you're better at evaluating talent than BB? Gotcha, didn't know that.

If you honestly believe that Stills is just as good as Cooks then you just don't watch football.

How do you know how BB values Kenny Stills, nitwit? Do I really need to spell out how dumb your argument is?

Ok?

Glad I made such an impression on you. Cute

That doesn't mean I think he'd be as good as Cooks given that increase in volume now, does it?

I was against the Stills trade. We essentially traded him for a 3rd as the Dolphins were cutting Ellerbe anyways.
