re: For everyone criticizing the Lattimore pick, you do not realize how lucky we got

i'm channeling MSB from the past and Seminole touting deep passing traits by posting yards and catches...while leaving out how they were hitch routes that went the distance

White is a great guy and player, I think he lasts a while in this league but he doesn't have the all pro potential of lattimore

yeah i love tre white and think the rant underrates him
he's not near the same class as lattimore

You are dead right. I was out last night but keeping up with the draft on my phone. As soon as the Saints picked Lattimore, I got on ST to see the joyful reaction only to find a meltdown. I just shook my head and laughed.

for some reason this board has always hated CBs
now i admit my bias in that i love to build Ds around CBs, but my love of this pick has nothing to do with that. it's easily the best value at 11
the only other pick there was hooker and i think lattimore is much more likely to be an elite NFL player

Two SEC defensive lineman were available. That's all people see.
I promise you if one of them was picked people would be melting about not going Lattimore.

yeah i doubt people would be melting over Allen if he played for a Pac12 or Big12 team

I'm warming up to Budda Baker over a DE a bit, even though my preference is pass rusher.
We were at our best with good Safety play. Baker/Vaccaro/Bell would be pretty damn salty with Lattimore/Breaux/Moore.
Would have to manufacture pass rush out of Cam/Fairley/Rankins/Okafor/Kikaha etc but I think that can be done. Not ideal but I see the makings of a better defense, for sure.

Tre White will have a better career than Lattimore.
Remember experts also said Blaine Gabbert was the next Brady...Rember the hose job they did to Minnesota to take Ponder?
Experts can get it wrong.... But what has to be asked is with the track record LSU is having eith db's and there performance in the nfl..why pass on one who is also projected as a 1st rounder just a few picks away.

Yeah, Ohio State has a terrible "track record" with DBs...

OSU isn't exactly churning out scrubs back there, had 3 go in round 1 last night....with 1 having rape allegations over his head

people seem generally confused on the position allen plays

First time I've ever seen you happy after a draft. And I agree with you.
As for the melters, Hey idiots! The saints just had Patrick Peterson-lite fall to them!
Also our OL has been buoyed for years by Drew s quick release. We ve made do without blue chip talent for years. We got it now.
A +++ last night.

if fairley had signed elsewhere i'd accept the anger over passing allen for ML
but he didn't
but he didn't

we are clearly investing in the run game

man strief is one of those guys that always seems to grade out well but I've never been all that happy with him....especially when he has an off day, its brutal. I think RR can potentially beat him out and start this year.
I love our OL going in for the first time in a while

yeah we actually have a potentially dominant OL
armsted, peat, unger, warford, ram
that's a solid group that is very athletic with some power on the right side and a great leader in the middle
there is not a blocking scheme we couldn't run. we could run every sort of man, zone, and pulling system you could imagine

Soo if he does turn out good...buffalo will be laughing at us. Like atl is
Posted on 4/28/17 at 11:22 am to SlowFlowPro
I can't believe this is a thing. We got the number one player at a huge need spot. Sure there are injury concerns but this is the NFL, injuries can happen to anyone.
