I might be getting it in my old age. Second year in a row I mocked the pick. I also predicted that they would have a choice between Allen, Hooker, & him.

if you mocked this, then you're certifiable

When mini camp comes look for Saints to announce he's limited.

we invested in rankins who looks pretty damn good and just paid fairley. we can't justify Allen given our roster. i mean it's kind of like foster going a pick before us. it is what it is and we just have to move on

was it the Bears that set the tone for the night that was?

The Ringer gave the Bengals an A for the value of drafting ross at #9

Hell NFL.com gave us a A- after we pick up the #1 CB and the #1 tackle.

Ross broke the combine’s 40-yard dash record when he ran it in 4.22 seconds, and that doesn’t even accurately capture how fast he is on the field. Joining A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert in Cincinnati, he will be a home run threat down the field for Andy Dalton on every snap. And since the former Husky is going to see a steady dose of big cushions from cornerbacks, he should factor into the short and intermediate areas, too. With four kick-return touchdowns in college, he also has plenty of value in the return game.

If the Saints took Tre White with the #11 pick, they would have rivaled the Bears for biggest laughing stock of the first round.

John Ross will have a spectacular 2 catch 31 yard performance in the Bengals' one-and-done playoff appearance next year.

Jeez

I like White as much as the next guy, but objectively, he wasn't as good a prospect. Lattimore was universally considered the top corner in the draft.

As for injury-prone... tell me, has that been recurring? Or was it an issue for him 2 years ago, and did it seem like he's moved on from that?

Look at it- his first season, he was a true freshman, and they redshirted him (injuries, maybe, sure)- how did his team do? They won the fricking National Title. So, they obviously didn't NEED him to come back... and if he was still the best corner on that team (as suggested), that says a lot about his talent.
Some trouble his redshirt freshman season- ok, he's a redshirt frosh too. Sat a year, working back into playing shape. How does he progress? He comes back the next season and answers all the questions by staying healthy, and dominating.

I mean, good god people, Tre White wasn't always the best corner here. He wasn't the guy that shut down A&M's big WR a couple years ago, that was the guy that got kicked off the team. White's good. Lattimore should be better.
