Favorite Buddy D call in moments

With all of the recent love being shown for Buddy D, I thought it would be cool to post your favorite moments from his legendary call in show. BTW - Bobby's show is a weak imitation IMO. Between the shilling for Domino's Pizza, Barq's and River Parish Disposal, I always loved listening to Buddy pitch products.
Here are some of my favorite Buddy moments
My favorite Buddy line - "the Saints are three players away from the Super Bowl - God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit."
Sid from Jefferson (now Sid from Gentilly) - "Where y'at Buddy boy" was his standard opening. Greatest caller in local talk radio history. Actually appeared on the air as Sid from Jefferson on the awful local access show "Fanatics" with Bob Delgiorno, Jr. Buddy was so big his callers got on air gigs.
Bubba showing up at the Second Guess show from Champions in Lakeside, riding on the roof of a conversion van with a blanket thrown over the top. "the Magic Carpet" indeed. Buddy loved it.
Luther from Slidell - Calls always had a racial undercurrent to them that Buddy never quite picked up on. Asked Buddy if Andre Rison was "Chinese or Japanese?" Also asked Buddy if "Emmitt Smith was the cousin or brother of Saints OC Carl Smith?" Buddy calmly explained that he didn't think they were related at all.
Wayne from Arabi - Always messed up the players and their positions, just to further confuse Buddy. Once asked Buddy if he thought it was a good idea to get backup QB Wade Wilson some extra snaps at Defensive End, just to keep him fresh. Also wondered to Buddy why they never split OT Chris Porte out wide to utilize his speed.
Just a few of my fond Buddy memories.

My favorite was Sid calling in after the playoff loss to the Eagles after the 92 season. He was acting like he was on life support and was laboring to breathe, let alone talk. I was mad as hell, but that did make me laugh.

Not to hijack this thread, but I recall someone calling in to Hap Glaudi's show after a game. I don't recall what was asked, but Hap said "You're full of canal water." A nice way of saying he was full of shite.

The guy that called Buddy D up and told him that it was well-known that Mike Ditka was gay.

Buddy was not a hair on Hap's arse. Hap was The Man and the Best.

I used to call in way back as Jody from Chalmette and mess with Buddy.
Two calls in particular made him laugh.
After a preseason game I called in and told Buddy I thought Mike Buck looked like a young Troy Aikman. Buddy told me I was obscene (probably meant insane).
Also after a game against the Bears, when Brad Muster was their main RB, we called in and told him that we wrote a song for Brad Muster and sang "No Moo-stair for you" to the last few lines of Ezra's "Hold me down"

Oh his many goofy gaffs, I remember Buddy trying to talk about getting rid of, I think Brooks, and kept saying Jetson instead of jettison

I remember this call. Good stuff. Sadly, I missed the Ezra spoof.

My favorites were always when Buddy would interview the junior captain of the week before every game. Some 10 year old kid, and Buddy would always ask the same lame questions...how old are you? What school do you go to? Who's your favorite Saints player? It was very high on unintentional comedy and also on awkwardness (which I guess can go hand in hand).
The best was when one girl answered Steve Gleason to the favorite saints player question, and completely baffled Buddy. It was hilarious. Had to hear it to realy appreciate it.

My favorite was when the Saints were playing an exibition game in Japan. I went next door to where I worked and tape recorded the lady at the Chinese restaraunt as a long distance operator. She said, "Hello, long distance call from Tokyo from Bubba on the magic carpet, will you accept the charges???? I think he believed i was in Japan!!!

Best Buddy D moment I ever saw/ heard. IT happened live at the Treasure Chest one night.
H Shuler was the Saints QB at the time and everyone in N.O. except Ditka wanted the guy on the bench...
CALLER: Hey Buddy, I was wonderin if you think Ditka is being so stubborn with Shuler out of respect for his dad, having won all those games in Miami.
Dead silence for about 10 seconds in the entire lounge.....
BUDDY (YELLING LOUDLY with a dumbfounded look on his face and flailing his arms in the air): "Uhh Uhhh Uhh...are you nuts? Who are you? Thats not his dad. They dont even spell it the same? What a squirrell! Who is this guy? How did he get through? What a squirrell! I need a break! We'll be right back.

Doesn't ANYBODY besides me remember the time Renaldo Turnbull threatened him on the air???
Posted on 2/3/10 at 5:54 pm to Kafka
Turbull was a clown, I remember him quitting and heading to the locker room in a game.
Anyone care to share the story of him threating Buddy?

I keep hoping somebody who heard it will post. I'm kind of hazy on it myself... Buddy hosted Turnbull's weekly show and said something about (I think) RT not hustling. RT got pissed and said something about Buddy never playing in the NFL and eventually he started making threatening remarks.
I can't give any more details because, frankly, I don't even remember whether I listened live or heard clips afterward. I DO remember WWL played these clips all week to hype the next show with RT and Buddy (which did take place, despite RT's belligerence).
What's amazing is that people can remember phone calls from Abdul the Tentmaker in 1992, but nobody recalls the most dramatic moment of Buddy's on-air career besides me..
