=/

Payton actively not drafting players due to where they went to school

But believe what you want.

And, :ghasp:, I've heard him compliment LSU. Not to mention the camp the Saints hosted.

But the other isn't lip service, instead it is proof, because you say so.

Keep on trucking

The funny thing is that we probably would have drafted La'El Collins at #13 if that whole ordeal didn't happen.

And we absolutely loved Beckham too

And we drafted Al Woods, trading up for him too.

Complimenting where a player they drafted went to school in a post draft press conference says they put value that in player evaluations.

Payton saying LSU is a good program in an undraft related press conference or interview is lip service. If you cant see the difference, then idk what to tell you.

Football programs are like companies. They are built by people. People have biases. Nice little analogy, and it might feel real to you, but it statistically isn't.

You can find every Saints pick going back to 1967 (which, in case you're a bandwagoner, was the year the Saints were founded) on Pro Football Reference ( LINK)

Out of 538 draft picks, the Saints have drafted 9 players from LSU. That may seem like a low number, but the most tapped school by the Saints is a tie between USC and Nebraska with 17. You may think that that is a big difference because it is almost double, but the 9 from LSU is 2% of total drafted and the 17 from USC/Nebraska is 3% of total drafted. You don't have to have a degree in Statistics (but luckily for you, I do) to realize that that is a very small difference in %. Statistically speaking, that is an insignificant difference. Meaning that statistically speaking, there is no difference between the amount of players drafted from LSU than any other school. The Saints have historically done a great job of drafting evenly from every school.

They pump out all pros year after year and we ignore them how come how we gonna get better if we don't draft sign or trade for the best players it's no excuse were wasting Brees and now it's too late

You should probably reign in that sarcasm for when LSU players start busting and the Saints start drafting later than the 15th pick.

1st round picks

2011 - Phil Taylor - Released
2012 - Trent Richardson - Traded
2012 - Brandon Weeden - Released
2013 - Barkevious Mingo - Traded
2014 - Justin Gilbert - Fighting for a roster spot
2014 - Johnny Manziel - Released

Really makes Joe Thomas stand out. Almost all of their top 2 round picks amount to nothing but JT has been consistently excellent.

I don't see why many of you are worked up about this. If Mingo was an ok player than I could see but he's not really done much of anything to suggest that's he's even an ok player.

And I bet you're blaming us not trading for him because he went to LSU, since the saints just HATE LSU players.

I mean, the Patriots are a model franchise and all, but IMAGINE HOW MANY SUPER BOWLS THEY WOULD HAVE WON IF THEY DRAFTED BOSTON COLLEGE PLAYERS!

The obvious thing is that if you're wrong, then you won't say a thing and act like you never said that. If you're right, you will proceed to suck your own dick and brag for as long as someone will listen.
