There are many reasons to not sign Hardy, but this absolutely not one of them.
His team was missing Their star QB, WR for a big chunk of the season, and Hardy was suspended. The 4 and 12 had very little to do with Hardy in that regard.
But I do agree with the No thanks part. Want nothing to do with him.

Negative. Money or no money, Junior was going to act a fool eventually. Your problem is that you fail to see the overall picture. Galette had been a headcase. It was the reason he was kicked out of Temple & ended up at Stillman.

Here's the problem that you & other posters who approve of potentially signing Hardy fail to see. All you guys are doing is looking at is on the field possibilities, sacks & pressures. Yes, the team could use help in that department but for all the on the field positives Hardy could potentially bring, his character behind the scenes could cancel out those positives if & when he starts to act an arse. You guys fail to see the importance of team chemistry in the locker room & how one bad apple can completely divide a team while effecting the play on the field. Players like Hardy often deviate from actual play calls & their assignments, just to pat their own stats. Sound familiar? Junior did this very often. It's why he was such a liability against the run. Not only that but signing Hardy would create a national media circus around the organization which is something a young team like we currently have doesn't need.

It just amazes me how people think we can sign a guy like that after all the cleansing we have done over the last couple of years.
I'm not against bringing in a guy or 2 that has a couple character flaws because every team has a guy thats not a good dude, but Hardy is a complete disaster on and off the field.
Like i've said here before...even if you can overlook the legal trouble you cant ignore how destructive he is as a teammate.

Again, this is a strawman. I never said he wasn't, I suggested that what made him so destructive to the organization was that he destroyed the salary cap when we had to cut him.

I really don't need to do intensive homework on the life, contract specifics, etc of a player to post general remarks on a Saints message board about at least evaluating and considering the guy. Come on dude, it's really not that serious.
And yes, I read the thread. I'm quite aware of all the guy's drawbacks that have been mentioned. I just don't know the ins and outs of every player's performance history.

I'm actually aware of all of that and have already addressed it. It's a risk and there are tradeoffs obviously. Once again, my point is simply that the staff should consider him. Meeting with the guy and making a determination from there.

The problem at this point is his baggage is bigger than his talent. He is not producing at an unbelievable rate to where you can justify what the potential problems can be.

You would make a horrible executive. It's so easy to analyze that a teenager could see he is a cancer. What is there to consider or determine? Taking him on at a vet minimum isn't even worth it.

the charges in one of the arrests were dismissed though. But the second time he basically went on a joyride from the cops. He got a DUI and had an open container.. there were other charges too I think.
but that was like 4 years ago so maybe he turned a corner.
I doubt the Saints would take a shot with Hardy. Maybe Dwight Freeney will get the call or maybe we can pick some other vet up if they get cut from a team before the season starts??
