This is bullshite. I've been emailing them back and forth. See below.

FYI in LC area and lost NBC.

quote:

Dear Mr. XXXXX, Thank you for writing. I understand that your local NBC station is currently unavailable due to our current negotiations with Raycom Media, Inc and you're wondering how you'll be able to access the NFL game that's scheduled to air on NBC on 09/04/14. As a sports fan myself, Mr. XXXXX, I understand how important it is to be able to watch your favorite teams play, and I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience this negotiation has caused. My name is Monica and I am a resolution specialist in DIRECTV’s email department. I see that you have been part of the DIRECTV family since at least 20XX. Your continued loyalty is greatly appreciated. Please be advised, Mr. XXXXX, that your program package does not include NBC East channel 392. Channel 392 is part of the Distant Network Service (DNS). Determining eligibility for DNS can be a lengthy process, however, I did check and am able to confirm that none of the DNS channels can be made available because of the Raycom Media, Inc negotiations. Even if our negotiations with Raycom Media, Inc are still unresolved by the time the game airs on 09/04/14, you will still be able to access the game. While you wouldn't be able to access it on channel 392 or your local NBC affiliate KPLC channel 7; all of the games remain available on free, over-the-air, digital broadcast television. Additionally, Mr. XXXXX, NBC Sports streams all of its NFL games online too. Nearly every digital TV set has its own built-in tuner to receive off-air signals, so all you need to do is turn off your DIRECTV receiver and tune your digital TV into the same channel position as your local Raycom station. It’s a small inconvenience, but your patience has a direct impact on your bill since you can help prevent Raycom from intentionally forcing you to miss a big game just to drive up your own bills in the future. While I realize this may not be the resolution to accessing the game that you had anticipated, Mr. XXXXX, because we respect your time we always want to ensure we're providing accurate and consistent information with each contact, and I am able to confirm that the information provided is the correct resolution for this matter. As a friendly reminder, you may periodically check for updates to this negotiation at www.directvpromise.com. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you, Mr. XXXXX. Thank you again for contacting DIRECTV. It is loyal customers such as you that help make us America’s #1 Satellite Entertainment provider. Sincerely, Monica J (ID 418662) DIRECTV Resolution Specialist

Part of me just doesnt even want to bother with getting my HD antenna out of the garage. Thinking about listening on radio and watching Redzone.
