He's really not.

I'm guessing 18 for Cooks vs. Butler and 32 for Cooks and 42 are the offers.

Curious to see if they actually take either.

I'm thinking that try to squeeze more and if they don't get it by this afternoon they pull the trigger on the one they like most.

I'd be much happier with the 18th overall.

Plus, when dealing with NE, you know with 100% certainty that the deal is just for their gain, not yours. I would never trust a deal with them. And the last thing Tom Brady needs is more help, let Cooks go make Mariota into one of the leagues best up-and-coming QBs.

Zone defense is a problem. He is the problem if he's calling the plays.

It's breaking news that it could happen this afternoon.

Lol, OK. It COULD happen at anytime. Now going out on a limb and saying it will happen is breaking news !

Where in my post did I use the words "breaking news"? I simply passed on a message from a reporter for people who may not have access to twitter.

But if you need breaking news: alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.

Now at least you can't tell me I didn't teach you anything.

Are people ok with Cooks for Butler straight up? Or do you all expect a pick to be included with Butler?

Got to Sign Butler Before for the trade to work.

Butler+32nd pick for Cooks+42nd pick has been suggested and seems reasonable if we can get an additional late round pick. Have to be sure we can extend Butler before agreeing to anything though.

You're obviously not who I was referring to then. This is a reasonable assessment. I'm referencing those who bash players they once trumpeted (in this case Cooks) at the announcement of a trade. There were already two in this thread alone posting and a "bye felicia" meme celebrating his being jettisoned.

Nicely written. Agree with all.

I would be good with that as well, but I wouldn't be happy with just an even swap.

The Cooks trade makes sense. The Saints don't need him for success. Our offense is stacked and he's a tremendously valuable asset to move for areas of need elsewhere. The fact that he's been a source of conflict only makes the move that much more sensible but make no mistake, moving a WR to bolster positions of REAL need is in the best interest of making this TEAM better.

We're no longer stacked on offense with trading Cooks, we have a HoF QB and a ascending Wr for the passing game. I like Ginn coming in for the return game, but he is not as consistent as Cooks on the outside.

Go back three years and the exact same could have been said about Graham. Maybe the FO learned an expensive lesson from that.

Saints never needed to overspend on WR/TE as long as Brees is here.

How exactly is our offense stacked? If we let go of cooks we have a great qb, a very good young wr, a good value 2nd wr ,a good Rb that we misuse, and a wildly inconsistent TE that is tremendously overpaid.

It's still very important. Don't forget the long stretch of I believe 2014 where all of our passing offense was through the TE's and RB's. Brees was forcing it to them because our WR's couldn't produce, and our offense suffered. Thomas, Snead, and Ginn should be good, though.

Where did I say your post said breaking news ?

I simply said that Cooks could be traded this afternoon wasn't breaking news.

Try reading carefully would be the lesson you need to learn, lil guy.
