If the saints pick anyone over Barnett if he's there I'll freak. Especially taco or McKinley

I still like Barnett if Thomas will not be there.
Hope I'm not being a homer, but is there a real concern about the alabama players injuries and being "used up"?

I added Malik McDowell to the list. Some guys on this site like him. His 4.85 40 time is damn good for weighing 295.

When I heard of Thomas, I kept thinking he's going to be like Leonard Floyd from last year. Mid teens to 20s, hit the combine, and slowly inched up to top 10

McKinley

Huge risk at #11, but I wouldn't mind him in the 2nd if he somehow fell to our pick. Great speed & has great potential as a pass rusher, but not sure we can coun't on him to provide legit run defense as a 4-3 DE(only 250 lbs). If he ends up being good vs the run...he'll be one of the steals of the draft. Some team that runs a 3-4 will probably take him pretty high as an OLB with a huge ceiling.

Takkarist McKinley(6'2" 250)

Why? I could understand McKinely but Taco was productive and he has better size and athleticism. But Barnett plays with more desire and heart, I'll give you that. If either one is there at 11 I'll Fap

This is what I hate about the combine. Everyone shittin on Allen, but when you put on that football tape he's clearly the best.

Who gives a flying shite about workout warriors.

Not saying he's not but he's also clearly surrounded by 8 other 1st round picks on defense at all times.

Jordan Willis. Great size and absolutely crushed the combine! 2016 big 12 defensive player of the year with 16.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks in the regular season. Last season Pro football talk had him graded as the 5th best pass rusher and gave him the top grade in run defense for a DL. Would be excellent in the second round allowing us to go linebacker or safety in the first.

From Herbie Teope on Jordan Willis:

#Saints met Willis off-site at Senior Bowl, then met informally at Combine. Said it in early Dec, but he'd be nice complement to Cam Jordan.

nice post, thanks, agree with Lester- all but Thomas available at #11. Even he has a chance if the stars align right if some QBs go early.

I'm not so worked about any particular guy this year. It looks like they will have a good selection where value meets need, whoever that might be. The more that time goes by the more I see the draft as a crapshoot more than science. Just review a few recent drafts and you realize many of the most touted fail at the NFL level while others passed by excel.

Just a glance back at some 2013 flameouts and their career sack totals so far...
Dion Jordan #3 overall, 3 sacks
Mingo #6, 7
Jarvis Jones #17, 6
Bjoern Werner #24, 6.5

That's just how the NFL draft works whether you like it or not. Measureables carry a lot of weight. Odds are you're not getting drafted in the top 8 no matter how good your tape is if you're not an uber gifted athlete. "Football guys" slide in the draft cause GMs fall in love with potential and Allen doesn't have "all-world" measureables.

You also explained why the Patriots are consistently good. They draft Football guys to play Football. Go Figure.

I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just telling you why it's going to happen.
