Pretty good read. Talked a little about free agency and what they may look for in the draft.

Seemed to reiterate how deep the safety position was in the draft. Could be bad news for Byrd.

He basically came out and said that we need OL in free agency or we have to use a 1st/2nd round pick on one, b/c the this years draft isn't deep at all in O-Line talent.

Yup. If we miss on guards in FA I expect one will be taken in the first if he grades out around our pick.

If not it could get ugly like passing on centers and trying to bring Goody back.

And it sounds like we won't be players for Berry like some were guessing, but yeah it seems like Byrd is all but gone unless he takes a massive pay cut.

This is the dumbest shite ever. Leonard had to deal with a shite passing game. He's got great hands for a rb. And he's stronger and a better pass blocker with just as much top end speed as Cook.

I would love to see him go to the Saints. Mainly for the melt. I truly hope we draft pass rush or corner.

"I think there’s a handful of defensive ends."
This statement makes me think we are going DE in the first. I have a feeling that the "top" DE will be gone by our pick in the second.
"I think it’s deep on safeties and also on corners"
My sleeper pick is S RAYSHAWN JENKINS MIAMI. We could get him in the fourth round. He is a head hunter. We could get a great CB in the third.
We just have to wait and see the cuts and FA.

Is it really? There's quite a few mocks/positional rankings that have Cook above him. It's not a stretch.
I think both will be fantastic NFL players but would hate the pick. A lot of people and I would hate any offensive pick because we don't need it. There will be a melt if any offensive player is picked. Not just LF.

Maybe so, but interestingly enough, LF7 in 2015 had a much higher Yards per route run and a much better pass blocking efficiency than Cook

He's shown ability in the passing and screen game IMO. For some reason, Les never wanted to feature screens in our offensive game.

Hell, look at how great Ware is at them now. We should have been running 5+ a game with the backs we've had over the years.

It's the opposite problem of Payton

LF7 wouldn't work well in SP's scheme.

I'm not saying he would suck, but the Saints would be better off drafting someone else with the #11.

Why?

Maybe not up to his potential, but why couldn't LF7 succeed in our offense?

He'd be getting the ball in space a ton, and is a home run threat on every carry, especially with Unger and Armstead up front.

Agreed, but that's really true of any running back in basically any scheme

If he drafts any offensive player other than maybe a lineman, then he has lost his mind.

Don't forget about the swing passes & checkdowns that are staples of the offense. Fournette one on one in the flats against a defender with a full head of steam is a mismatch all day.

So is Dalvin Cook though. Cook accelerates so damn quickly & has some of the sickest jump cuts you will ever see in space.
